Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk
If you're a dieter, that familiar glass of chocolate milk, which is roughly 160 calories, now becomes a high calorie indulgence, especially for a liquid that may not leave you feeling full. After experimenting with some homemade chocolate milk concoctions (mixing skim milk with chocolate milk, adding Hershey's syrup to skim, etc.), I discovered Almond Breeze Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk.
This dairy free milk ingredients are mostly water, almonds, and cocoa. It's sugar free (and free of artificial sweeteners), so I would not recommend drinking it straight from the glass as is. If you've ever tasted unsweetened cocoa powder, you'll understand why! Usually I add a packet of natural sweetener, such as Stevia - warm it up in the microwave to get something similar to hot cocoa. It also works well when making a delicious tasting milkshake or smoothie.
Each 8 ounce serving of Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk contains an astounding 45 calories, 3.5 grams of fat, and no sugar, making it taste creamy without being sickeningly sweet like some other varieties. There are also 2 grams of protein, 1 gram of fiber, and this beverage also provides 20% of your daily calcium needs, 25% for vitamin D, and a whopping 50% of vitamin E (from the almonds). Not as impressive stats as regular skim milk, but it's a fine replacement to traditional chocolate milk.
I purchased Almond Breeze Almond Milk from Whole Foods in the aisle with other shelf-stable milks, for about $3. Each container contains about 4 cups. It's also gluten free, cholesterol and lactose free, and something I would buy again and again.

I love this and the plain unsweetened as well
DEFINITELY put the artificial (or natural) sweetener in it though..haha
I just bought some of this the other day! After I try it I'll come back and rank it.
I love this stuff, and I drink it unsweetened (hot and cold). It's the best! I now think the sweetened versions are *too* sweet. Maybe my tastebuds have adjusted to like less-sweet things (let's hope so, anyway!).
I use the plain and the vanilla unsweetened daily and have since it came out. We love it!
Nice fresh taste and good for you too.
Better for you than skim milk because it's so low in carbs. Skim milk has a ton of carbs and twice as many cals.
I absolutely LOVE this Almond Milk, I bought Sweetened Vanilla and Chocolate because that's all they had, I will have to try the unsweetened. I LOVE The almond taste, SO good!
I bought the unsweetened plain mainly to bake for my friend with a milk allergy, but I drank most of it myself! It's delicious, and doesn't bother my stomach like dairy sometimes does. It's won me over, for sure!
I have the world's biggest sweet tooth, so it's sweet or bust. I've tried the sweetened vanilla version of this, and I love it- I'm drinking my first glass now. I've been a soy milker until now- I'll have to seriously consider a switch.
i feel sick drinking it..i guess i'm not used to the taste yet..i have been drinking Silk Unsweetened Soymilk..I have to mix them together just to finish it.
Try mixing the Chocolate with the Vanilla. It's good.
great for kids with autism on the gluten/casein free diet. My kid likes this much better than rice milk
anyone know where to get coupons for this stuff. It is WONDERFUL, but rather expensive.
You might find some coupons on EBay(I did a search and found a few for Blue Diamond). I don't use them myself, so I know nothing about the validity.
I notice that the chocolate had 20g for the cane sugar isn't that too high for a glass. Have to find unsweetened.
The plain is great on cereal and low fat. Will try vanilla
Mary: I got a pack of 20 coupons on Ebay for $1.50, which are for $1 off each. They expire 12/15...there are still more up there on Ebay. They are actually for the new (chilled) version which hasn't come out in unsweetened yet, but luckily the cashier didn't notice, and I saved $2 buying 2 of them...which means I got 2 whole cartons for $2 total!
