Kashi GoLean Roll Bars

Kashi GoLean Roll Bars are, "specifically designed for an Optimized Glycemic Response with slow release carbohydrates to help balance your blood sugar, and protein and fiber to help your stay satisfied", according to Kashi. These snack bars have a thick chewy nougat center surrounded by caramel and then rolled in whole grains, nuts and crisps. There are 3 flavors of these decadent bars: Caramel Peanut, Chocolate Peanut, and my personal favorite, Chocolate Turtle. They are extremely chewy, and not only do they cure that between meal tummy growling, but they also deliver exquisite candy bar flavor.
As much as this reminds me of a candy bar, I must say that the 12 grams of protein and the 6 grams of fiber, which is 25% of the daily recommended amount make this bar/ roll stand out from the rest of the crowd.
Each Kashi GoLean Roll Bar weighs in at a substantial 55 grams. The Chocolate Turtle variety has 190 calories, 5 grams of total fat including 1.5 grams of saturated fat (both are 8% of the RDA) and 14 grams of sugar from brown rice syrup. The bars are also fortified with 10-20% of Vitamin C, calcium and iron.
This bar actually has better nutrition than some other protein bars. In fact, when I don't have access to a blender for my nightly protein shakes, these bars make a fantastic indulgence replacement. I purchased my Roll! at Whole Foods for $1.49 each, which is fifty cents more than Kashi's Crunchy Protein and Fiber Bars, but I find these much more enjoyable plus they have more protein and less sugar, and well worth the price. I've tried these as well. I like them because they're very filling; it is almost a meal in its self.
I tried these after seeing them here, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I've tried many of the "indulgent" protein bar type things, and most taste way too chalky for my preferences. I don't know if it's the tasty bits all around or what, but I will definitely have these again. Thanks!

Do these contain any of the sugar alcohols that other bars have in them? They sound great, but I hate the...stink factor...of the protein/fiber bars. LOL -- maybe it's just me, but eew.
After reviewing the ingredients list, I am pretty sure that these are sugar alcohol-free. Kashi is a company that focuses on natural foods, so I doubt that they would include sugar alcohols in their products. Plus, I have sampled my fair share of these bars, and I never experienced any "stink factor."
these bars are delicious. ive had the choc. turtle and choc. peanut...still search he** and high water for the Fudge Sundae though
I love these bars. I have been eating them for a week as a before lunch snack. I found them today on sale at CVS for a buck a piece and bought 50 of them! Very satisfying and tasty.
