Glaceau Vitamin Water: Endurance Peach Mango Flavor
But there are other reasons to drink water, so I don't want to give the impression that Vitamin Water is useless. The taste of the Endurance variety is more of a light fruit flavored beverage similar to Propel Fitness Water, with a definite mango and peach flavor. It is sweet but not too sweet, but certainly not as light as Fruit2O. The sweetener in Vitamin Water is crystalline fructose and there are no artificial sweeteners nor do they use real juice in the flavoring. In addition to 50 calories per serving, the Peach Mango Endurance version contains 10% vitamin C and 10% vitamin E and vitamins B3, B6, B5 and B12 plus Ribose. Apparently supplementing with ribose has been shown to improve energy recovery in muscles leading to the ability to work out longer and build muscle faster (I haven't seen the research so I'm can't comment on the validity of this). One 20 ounce bottle costs $1.49 at the time of purchase. There are those who love Vitamin Water because it has helped them kick a soda habit, and I know some people who swear by it for helping to rejuvenate them after a long run. My former DietTrash review has the most comments of all the 400+ products on this blog - so it seems like there are a lot of people who really like this. I think it's just aaight. It comes down to whether I prefer to get 150 calories in Vitamin Water or the artificial sweeteners in Propel or Fruit2O which I think are just as good in taste. Comments
