Silk Live Key Lime Soy Yogurt

Silk Live Soy YogurtForget any stereotypes that you might have about the taste of soy products because Silk Live Key Lime Soy Yogurt tastes just like it's dairy cousins. I detected no beany soy taste or off flavors at all. Silk has been in business a long time, and I think they have now pretty much perfected the art of making "regular tasting" soy products.

Hopefully you have already experienced the nirvana that is a well made Key Lime Pie, so you know what to expect. The green picture on the label, and my association of the color green with the word "lime" actually led me to believe that this yogurt would be ... green. But, it wasn't. The color was actually a light brown, "yogurt might have gone bad" kind of color. But I still went ahead and had a spoonful and I'm glad I did. There is a definite yummy key lime flavor - tart and sweet at the same time, although more on the tart side.

One 6 ounce container of Silk Live Key Lime Soy Yogurt has 150 calories, 2 grams of fat (3% of the recommended daily amount), no saturated or trans fat, 4 grams of protein and 30 grams of total carbohydrates, which includes only 1 gram of fiber and 21 grams of sugars. Plus 50% citamin C and 30% of your daily calcium requirements.

Sure the sugars may be a bit more than I would like, but the flavor is pretty good, and kudos to Silk for having no artificial flavors or preservatives, meaning no artificial sweeteners, and 6 live active yogurt cultures - which promotes the growth of the good gut bacteria which can fight the bad cancer causing ones.

One container was 99 cents at Whole Foods. Hopefully they are a little cheaper elsewhere because Whole Foods is notoriously expensive. I would buy these again, because it made a delicious Key Lime protein shake - delish!

My favorite soy yogurt is WholeSoy - they don't make a key lime flavor, but the flavors they DO make are sooo delicious.

I just tried this exact product last week (love that key lime!)It was the first soy yogurt I had ever tried so I didn't really know what to expect. Pretty good, but there is too much sugar for my taste.

sounds like it is worth a try, I'll keep an out for it at the store

have you seen the brazil yogurt ads? (the photos are beautiful - but their tagling is awful - it is really demeaning to women). I posted about it because I felt it folks should be aware of the issue.
