Celestial Seasonings Original Indian Spice TeaHouse Chai

Celestial Seasonings Chai TeaI have been drinking a lot of the Celestial Seasonings Indian Spice TeaHouse Chai Tea lately my latest campaign to "drink more tea and less coffee." I simply love the flavor of this tea and it's the first thing I reach for in the mornings when I get to work (so now you also know where I'm getting it from). In order to explain the flavor, I must list the ingredients: black tea, cinnamon, ginger root, roasted chicory root, cloves, cardamom, natural flavors, nutmeg, black pepper, Chinese star anise, and vanilla bean.

Caffeine chartThose spices give the tea a really deep, rich sort of musky and wonderful taste. Totally different from the strong almost bitter taste of black tea, and the light flavor of most herbal teas. It does have some caffeine, but much less than a cup of coffee and sometimes you just need something to help you perk up - and this is it.

Each box has 20 tea bags. You can buy a pack of 12 boxes at Amazon.com for $26.48 (free shipping). It's also available in most stores.

Love, love this zero calorie pick me upper. I'm also looking to expand my "tea selection" so I would love some recommendations!

I adore this tea as well! It has such a delicately spicey and bold flavor; I drink the decaf version every night before hitting the sack to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. My all time favorite tea is Green Ginger by Tazo. I LOVE it. It manages to energize, soothe the stomach, and calm your nerves all at once...talk about a multi-tasker! While talking about tea, I must also mention Revolution teas for they are fantastic as well. The Earl Grey Lavender tea they make is superb for breakfast or an afternoon of pretending like you are a British citizen. Yay for tea!

Umm..totally unrelated. Sort of. But what is everybody's opinion on 'negative calorie' foods? You know, the ones that supposedly burn more calories to digest than is actually in the food itself? (i.e.apples...or raw meat)

Its a little labor-intensive, but have you tried making chai from scratch with ground spices or pre-mixed spices(masala) such as the one from Chai.com

Real chai tea (from teabag and not drinkmix), is heavenly! I love to drink it with about 25% of the cup filled with soymilk. Any milk would do though. Try the tazo, good earth and mighty leaf brands of chai as well, they are the best in my opinion. Celestial Seasonings has some great varieties of chai, I love them all! They also have a good honey vanilla chammomile and vanilla red tea that are excellent.

Thanks for the recommendations! Anon: about negative calorie foods - unless they are burning at least 100 calories they can't help me!
