Kellogg's All Bran Yogurt Bites Cereal

Kelloggs All Bran Yogurt BitesAn "All Bran Cereal" that doesn't taste awful? Is it possible? Well, yes and I found it in Kellogg's All Bran Yogurt Bites. Kellogg's - you did good. The all bran yogurt bites taste pretty darn good. Don't get me wrong though, it is not as good as say Kashi Mighty Bites, Honey Bunches of Oats or even our all time favorite Kashi GoLean Crunch, but it is a very decent alternative. The taste is more like a lightly sweetened, old school cornflakes type (though not as 'corny'), but the 'yogurt clusters' provide a little boost in sweetness. My only complaint would be that I would have liked to see a little bit more of them (but not at the expense of adding more calories).

While the taste is good, it is the fact that this cereal provides 40% of the daily requirement for fiber, that would make me reach for it again.

One serving of Kellogg's All Bran Yogurt Bites is 1.25 cups - geez I hate all these weird serving size. One serving is 190 calories (which means 1 cup is 150 calories), 3 grams of total fat which is 5% of the recommended daily amount, 1.5 grams of saturated fat (8% of the RDA), 6 grams of protein and 44 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 40% of the dietary fiber (10 grams) and 7 grams of sugar.

A box of 4 is [available on Amazon.com for $15.85 . If you're looking for a cereal that tastes good and is high in fiber then this is definitely the way to go. And it seems the folks over at MrBreakfast.com also loved it [here's the link to their review]. And as a side note: the 'yogurt bites' is not really yogurt, as I'm sure most people are aware. They are oats and sugar (and HFCS) clusters coated with a vanilla heat treated cultured milk coating - a far cry from yogurt.

I heard there's a chocolate All-Bran. I think I might just eat that.
