Tropicana Pink Grapefruit Fruit Squeeze

Tropicana Pink Grapefruit Fruit SqueezeThe Tropicana Fruit Squeeze is one of my favorite bottled juice /water hybrids. I started out not liking juice waters at all - I thought they were too sweet, not quite juice, not quite water, but I think Tropicana definitely got the right combination going. Their 'Squeeze' still has a light refreshing taste, but with the flavor and not the sweetness of the juice - thanks in part to their use of Splenda as the sweetener. I didn't perceive any after taste either.

There are quite a few reviews of Tropicana Fruit Squeeze. Over at The Incredible Shrinking Ladies, they thought the Summer Lemon flavor was "just like having lemonade" and the Lime Raspberry flavor was even better - "It was the right balance of tart and sweet." [read their review].

At The Nibble, they thought, "The Pink Grapefruit and Summer Lemon tasted as natural to us as the real thing - in fact, we actually prefer the Fruit Squeeze to a regular glass of grapefruit juice or a lemonade, because of the lightness" [read their review].

But at BevNet, they totally disagreed, "The Pink Grapefruit variety of Tropicana Fruit Squeeze is certainly drinkable and there is a nice, natural tasting grapefruit to it. However, there's also a nasty dose of flavoring, colors, and sucralose" [read their reviews of all the flavors - and they didn't like any of them much].

The Tropicana Pink Grapefruit Fruit Squeeze has 13% juice and 20 calories per 8 ounce serving. The bottle I bought is almost 16 ounces which would be 35 calories according to Tropicana. There is also 4 grams of sugar per serving (7 grams in the 16 ounce bottle).

One 16 ounce bottle was $1.49 - but I did buy it in one of those expensive airport stores. I would buy this again - if it were cheaper and especially since I don't drink as much water as I should. However, I still think that there is no substitute for plain old H20.

Recently I have found this product at Big Lots stores. I like it very much. Cost is $3.00 for a six-pack of 20 oz bottles.
