FlatOut Multi Grain Wrap
This review was done by Ann H. In her words, "I am a 20 year old from southern Louisiana who is currently a 3rd year Marketing major at the University of Southern Louisiana. I am a bonifide "healthy product foodie!" My ultimate goal is to work in the marketing and development department of a healthy food company...like Amy's or Kashi."

Yummy TortillasOne of the go-to items that I keep stocked in my pantry are FlatOut Multi Grain Wraps. They are an amazing alternative to bread when making sandwiches, plus they can also be used to make your own unique creation! Aside from making veggie-packed sandwich wraps with the FlatOuts, one of my favorite things to do with them is lay one on a baking sheet and pop it in the oven for about 7 minutes at 350 degrees, then take it out of the oven and spread some good chunky marinara sauce on one of the flatbreads, sprinkle it with cheese, and top it with lots of veggies. Then, put it back in the oven for 10-15 more minutes until the flatbread is crispy and the cheese is completely melted. Believe me that my little Flat-Out pizzas are totally yummy!

Another one of my favorite things to do with them is cut them up into little triangles, brush them with olive oil and spread the triangles in a baking sheet. I put them under the broiler for about 5 minutes until they are good and golden brown, then as soon as they come out of the oven and are still hot, I take a smashed clove of garlic and rub it all over the triangles and, voila! You have awesome homemade garlic pita chips!

OK, so now we know that the Multi-Grain Flat Out wraps are awesomely delicious and versatile but that is not even the best part about them. They are tops in my book because of how healthy they are. One wrap has 100 calories, 31% of the recommended daily amount of fiber (8 grams), 9 grams of protein, and they are made with whole wheat flour, oat bran, and flax flour; You can even see little flax seeds and oats dotted throughout the flat breads.

The rest of the nutrition facts are 2.5 grams of total fat (4% of the RDA), no saturated or trans fat, 16% of the RDA for sodium (380 mg) and 17 grams of total carbohydrate (including 1 gram of sugar alcohol - maltitol).

Aside from the taste, versatility, and nutritional value, these FlatOut Multi-Grain wraps also have another attractive quality: they are CHEAP :) One pack of 6 wraps costs approximately $1.50 at Super Wal-Mart! This is a very important fact given my tight college student's budget! If you haven't tried these wraps then you must grab a pack the next time you see them at the store. Get creative and let me know the cool uses that you come up with for the FlatOuts!

I love these too--and they come in mini and kid sizes, which are perfect for folding over to make grilled cheese, or toasted peanut butter and banana crepes (just had one this morning!), or burritos.

I make toasted peanut butter and banana crepes for breakfast too! I also love making panini wraps (just wrap whatever fillings you want and pop it into the George Foreman grill for toasting and warming. These have been instrumental in my recovery from anorexia, I can't say enough good things about them. I even have my whole family hooked on them!

One question. How do this wraps differ from the La Tortilla Factory wraps? They seem pretty similar nutritionally.

La Tortilla Factory Wraps are also great - we are not making a comparison, just presenting options.
