Stonyfield Farm Organic Lowfat Mocha Latte Yogurt

Stonyfield Farm Organic Mocha Latte YogurtMy first foray into the chocolate Stonyfield yogurts didn't do too well. I started with the Stonyfield Farm Fat Free Chocolate Underground Yogurt which tasted terrible [read the review]. I had already purchased the Lowfat Mocha Latte flavor so I decided to give it a go. When I opened the container and saw the exact same beige /off-white /cream color as the Chocolate Underground yogurt - I think I just gave up all hope right then and there.

I went ahead anyway because money had been spent and a review needed to be written. While the taste wasn't too bad - it wasn't too good either. There was a mild coffee flavor to the yogurt, which just didn't seem to 'belong.' I like coffee and coffee drinks a lot, but I must say I don't like my yogurt to have that essence. But I did prefer this Mocha Latte to yogurt the Chocolate Underground one.

One 6 ounce container of Stonyfield Farm Organic Lowfat Mocha Latte Yogurt has 140 calories, 1.5 grams of fat which is 2% of the recommended daily amount, 1 gram of saturated fat (5% of the RDA), 4% of the recommended daily amount of sodium (100 mg), 7 grams of protein and 25 grams of total carbohydrates, which includes 8% of the RDA for fiber (2 grams) and 22 grams of sugars.

One 6 ounce container of the Stonyfield Lowfat Mocha Latte was $0.89 when purchased from Whole Foods. It is lower in calories and sugars when compared to the
Fat Free Chocolate Underground Yogurt, and it tastes a little better - though not by much. I am staying away from the chocolate Stonyfield yogurts and sticking to the more 'traditional' flavors which I think taste significantly better.

I know, i know, you're sure not going to want to try stonyfield farms AGAIN, but you should try the FROZEN chocolate underground yogurt. I know as I have tried both-- they taste nothing alike. The frozen variety is really, really good.

My daughter and I both love the chocolate underground and I love the mocha latte. To each their own - just leaves more for me!
