Lakewood Organic Heart Healthy Pomegranate with Cranberry

Lakewood Organic makes just about every juice you can think of - without preservatives or additives. I am an avid cranberry juice drinker, but now I am going to be an avid Pomegranate with Cranberry Juice drinker, because, let's face it, you taste one 100% pomegranate juice beverage, you've tasted them all. BUT I adore the combination of pomegranate with cranberry juice because you get the benefits of the antioxidants from BOTH juices as well as the beneficial effects of cranberry juice in helping to prevent urinary tract infections. The taste is also great with the sweet taste of the pomegranate but a distinct tartness from the cranberry juice. Love it!

One thing to note is that the juices in this (in order of weight) are pomegranate, APPLE, cranberry, grape, cherry and acerola cherry. The juice is also enriched with aloe vera and grapeseed. Growing up in the tropics, aloe vera was a cure all for all ailments, so I'm glad to see it being put to use on a more widespread basis.

One 12.5 ounce bottle is actually two servings (that is just plain ridiculous). One serving is 6 ounces and has 95 calories, 21 grams of sugar and 4% of the recommended daily amount of fiber (1 gram). There is also a small amount (less than 5% on average) of a few vitamins and minerals. (So one bottle is actually 198 calories and 43 grams of sugar).

There are 320 calories in a 16 ounce bottle of POM Wonderful and 300 calories in Purely Juice Pomegranate Juice. One 16 ounce bottle of this Lakewood Pomegranate with Cranberry would be 253 calories.

The Lakewood 12.5 ounce bottle is $2.99 which makes it seem cheaper than other pomegranate juices, but the bottle size is smaller (even though it doesn't look like it). You can also get larger size bottles of this. Amazon.com has 6 x 32 ounce bottles for $27.96 [link].

This is definitely going to be one of the juices I reach for in the future.
