Quorn Meat Free Dogs
This also might not be for you if you want something similar to a plump, juicy and tasty hot dog. Unfortunately Quorn dogs just don't make the cut. They are thin and wimpy and don't plump on cooking. The taste is bland and almost like cardboard and they cook to a very unattractive brown color. So far, the best "meatless dog" I have reviewed is Morningstar Farms Veggie Dogs and I also love Morningstar Farms Corn Dogs One Quorn dog is 80 calories, 4 grams of total fat which is 6% of the recommended daily amount, only 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 25% of the daily recommended amount of sodium (250 mg), 5 grams of protein and only 8 grams of total carbohydrates, which includes 2 grams of fiber (8% of the daily recommended amount). They are also rather expensive at $4.69 for a pack of 8 (bought at Whole Foods in Ann Arbor, Michigan). Another Quorn product reviewed was Quorn Meat and Soy free Nuggets. That was actually excellent - and I don't say that lightly! I couldn't tell the difference between this 'meatless version' and the real deal. Unfortunately, there was also no difference in the amount of calories, since just 4 nuggets are 190 calories and 15% of the daily recommended amount of fat (10 grams). Comments
