Diet Trash: Banquet Corn Dog Meal

Diet Trash is about the food products you might eat because you think you're doing something better for your diet, but you'll be surprised to know, they're not.

Banquet Corn Dog MealThe Banquet Corn Dog Meal has 1 corn dog (batter coated chicken on a stick), a small handful of french fries, a piece of chocolate cake and a little bit of corn. This meal essentially has no nutrients and is 490 calories worth of crap. You also get 28% of the recommended daily amount (RDA) of total fat, 18% of the RDA for saturated fat, and 33% of the RDA for sodium (800 mg). If that weren't bad enough, the very small portion size only leaves you hungrier than when you started eating the meal.

Diet Trash The Banquet Corn Dog Meal reminds me of the term 'gateway drug' - It's like the start of bad eating habits, so I implore you to avoid this like the plague. It's pretty cheap at only $1.00, but so are Michelina's Lean Gourmet meals which are much healthier. I recommend the 5 Cheese Lasagna and the Roasted Sirloin Supreme.

Tell me you didn't eat this! Kinda turns my stomach just looking at it!

Thanks for the review though, if you ate it, you're much braver than I!

Wow, it doesn't even look appetizing

Why would you review a meal that isn't even considered a diet food? There is no "lean, diet, low calorie, low carb" or anything even related to healthy on this box!!

Sheree - there is a category called "diettrash" where I put foods that I find a bit abhorrent. It is not a review since I don't do taste nor do I give it a rating. But really - I review whatever I want and if there are any suggestions of things to review - please feel free to email them to me.

Heh. I had this in my freezer for about 3 months before throwing it out. Just couldn't bring myself to eat it and glad I didn't. Dunno what was going through my mind when I got it, but hopefully that wont happen again.

I just had this for lunch...it wasn't that bad...I like corn dogs so that was perfect...I eat a corn dog as a meal so I guess if you are an over eater then you wouldn't be full on this...my suggestion is wrapping the corn dog in a paper towel...it stops it from getting mushy and eating the cake while it is warm which was decent. Banquet doesnt claim to be gourmet like other brands...anything in a box is not gourmet. Be a bit realistic!

its not about being gourmet..its about the nutrition or lack thereof for not too big an amount of food

Banquet Corn Dog meal rocks!! I love it, and it is fine to eat every now and then. You just can't abuse it!

That thing is so SMALL.
I could think of a million better ways to spend almost 500 calories than on that pitiful pitfall of a meal.

Their meals aren't filling. But they are super cheap, and I do love corn dogs. Unfortunately, I haven't seen this one anywhere! And the ones they do sell that I've seen certainly are crap after all.

I just ate one of these, it was delicious and I'm pretty full now.

my daughter loves these! great for a quick snack...but they are hard to find...please help!
