Amys Macaroni and Soy Cheeze
I love Amy's but I can't share Ann's enthusiasm for this one. I thought it was just okay. The soy cheeze tasted similar to the regular, goopy processed cheese that you find in most macaroni meals. Does anybody really eat plain macaroni and cheese anyway? I'm not a macaroni and cheese person, so it might just be me, but while I was eating this, I thought it needed some meat (or fake veggie meat) or something else to kick this meal up a notch. Again, I might be wrong and it might just be me, but there is no way that I would pay $2.95 for just plain macaroni and cheese - no matter how good it tastes (and this is not that good) and lactose intolerant or not! Over at Heat Eat Review, they thought there was an aftertaste [read their review] and gave it 3 stars. One bowl of Amy's Macaroni and Soy Cheese is 370 calories with 23% of the recommended daily amount (RDA) of total fat (15 grams) and 10% of the RDA for saturated fat (2 grams). There is no trans fat or cholesterol, but there is 21% of the RDA for sodium (500 mg), 16 grams of protein and 42 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 2 grams of sugars and 16% of the RDA for fiber (4 grams). I can't believe that I'm at almost 1/4 of my daily requirement of fat from a bowl of mac and cheeZe. Amy's usually has very high standards for the ingredients in their meals, and this is no exception. Amys Macaroni and Soy Cheeze is made from organic ingredients and cheddar style soy cheeZe made from tofu. I would say this is vegetarian and not vegan because they do have milk protein in their ingredients. I I love Amy's but I have to say no to this for the price - not when there is$1.00 Kraft Mac n Cheese around. I much prefer Amys Tofu Vegetable Lasagna which is also made with soy cheeze [read the review]. Comments

I wonder at what point does "health food" become just like every other junk food out there. When it's processed, put into a box, frozen, and made for a microwave, are you really any better off eating it instead of any other boxed frozen food?
