Fiber One Cereal with Honey Clusters

I try to get as much fiber as I can in my diet and when I saw Fiber One cereal with 56% of the recommended daily amount of fiber, I knew that I had to try it. Since there is so much fiber, you should expect that there is going to be a sort of "bran" taste to the cereal - and there is! It didn't have much taste other than that - it's not really sweet, although it does have "honey clusters" - which look like little balls of oats. There are lots of them in the cereal, and every now and again you get the soft crunch of one of the little clusters, but the taste and texture is greatly overshadowed by the bran taste of the rest of the cereal - really, they might as well have left them out. I actually liked the cereal though, because the bran taste is not too overwhelming. Although I couldn't see myself buying box after box of this cereal, but I would go back to it from time to time. Another vote for this cereal is over at Nutritious Junk [link], where hungry waif wrote a very favorable review.

One serving has 160 calories, only 1 gram of fat, and 44 grams of total carbohydrate which includes 14 grams of fiber which is 56% of the daily value (also 3 grams of soluble fiber) and only 4 grams of sugars! And there is also 10-25% of many vitamins and minerals. Add half a cup of skim milk and you are right at 200 calories.

Some people like lower calories, but I can live with a 200 calorie breakfast - especially when I know that they are due in part to the wholesome goodness of fiber. One 15 ounce box costs $3.84 when I purchased it at Walmart. Another high fiber cereal, that also happens to be my favorite, is Kashi Go lean Crunch [read the review]. It not only has 32% of the daily fiber requirement, but also tastes great!

Yum! I love this cereal! I find the sweetness to be just right for me. It's much tastier than All Bran, and you get a bigger serving size, too.

I love this cereal, but I like the regular Fiber One, which has less calories and more fiber, even better. It's great with some fat free vanilla yogurt.

I love this cereal! I've only tried Honey Clusters kind and I like to add raisins to it sometimes. I'm going to try the regular(without honey clusters) kind today!

This cereal is just great. I was fearful about a bland bran taste, but this is really good. The honey clusters add diversity to the cereal and overall, I really like it. If it is not sweet enough for some, add a little Spenda to it and you'd be just fine. I am glad I tried it. The fiber content is huge and if I can make myself eat breakfast every day (not easy), this will greatly benefit me.

I got to tell you...........I am a 52 year old man with hemorroids......and this stuff has helped me being regular. I swear by it....please do give it a try. If you had to get a prescrip for fiber, it would cost lots more, and be only the same content....

I am having a hard time finding Fiber One Clusters, Sams Club had them for awhile. Not for the past three months. I have checked three stores in my town and can't find it any more.

I actually like the taste of bran. I even love the regular fiber one cereal with 60 calories per half cup! I add cinnamon and it tastes even sweeter! :)
