Yves Meatless Lemon Herb Veggie Chicken Skewers
The new Yves 'meatless' Skewers are like shishkabobs and they come in two different flavors: lemon herb and barbecue. I tried the lemon herb faux chicken and I really liked it. The skewers look like chicken and have a similar texture - right down to tearing the 'meat' off the stick. The lemon herb seasoning was only so-so, but, as the package states, you can baste them with your own sauce, which I highly recommend you do.
Another thing I really liked was that one skewer was only 100 calories. There is also 1 gram of fat, no saturated fat, no cholesterol, 19% of the daily requirement of sodium (450 mg), 15 grams of protein and 7 grams total carbs, which includes 2 grams of sugar and 4 grams of fiber which is 15% of the recommended daily amount.
This is a bit high in sodium, but it is a good source of fiber, vitamin B12 , B6 and niacin. I didn't like the first Yves product I reviewed which was Yves Veggie Penne [link], but they certainly have redeemed themselves with this offering. This is a great alternative to grilling beef or chicken and it also takes only about 12-15 minutes to cook.
I bought it a Mrs. Greens Natural Grocer for $4.59 on sale - and only 2 comes in a package. It might be cheaper at other grocery stores because Mrs. Greens is hella expensive! But they have an extensive product line when it comes to natural, organic, vegetarian and gluten free foods!

We tried these over the weekend, too. Surprisingly good, but expensive even at Publix.
Now, if only they could serve these at fairs, carnivals, ect... :)
fyi, i made these on a grill last night and they came out -amazing-. MUCH better than just throwing them in a pan.
I LOVE THESE. the barbeque flavor is even better imo. only problem is the price...come on yves, lower it just a bit!
