This week it is all about Ice cream, after all July is National Ice cream Month. Check out all our Reviews of Ice cream of the low fat variety of course. Try a flavor you haven't tried before.

Not Nuts Trail Mix I normally don't eat trail mix because just as little as a handful has at least 100 calories - and most people eat the whole bag in one sitting - which can add up to 100 calories. That said, I got a hold of Not Nuts Trail Mix and this goes up there with one the best tasting trail mixes I have ever had - and it is not made up of the usual stuff. Not Nuts Trail Mix is 'allergen free' because it has no nuts, dairy, soy or gluten! Instead, the ingredients are raw sunflower kernels, roasted hulled pumpkin seeds, raisins, dried apples, chocolate chips (non dairy), and cranberries. A simple list of ingredients, great taste and perfect for people with food allergies.

One serving of Not Nuts Trail Mix is 28 grams (1 ounce) - which is really not a lot - about half of 1/4 cup (1/8 th cup or just a handful). One serving has 140 calories, 8 grams total fat (12% of the daily value), 1.5 grams of saturated fat (8% of the DV), no cholesterol, low sodium (45mg or 2% of the daily value), 5 grams of protein and 12 grams total carbohydrates, which includes 2 grams of dietary fiber (8% of the RDA) and 9 grams of sugars. That's a lot of calories for just a handful of food- but it is about the same as most other brands of trail mix.

You can buy Not Nuts Trail Mix online from Gluten Free Mall for $3.02 per bag [link]. I really enjoyed Not Nuts and if you have allergies to certain foods, and even if you don't, give this a try - but be careful about eating more than 1 serving at once.

This looks good, but I've learned to stay away from Trail Mix.

thanks for sharing this find, tanya! our household has been trailmix-free for the last several years because my son has nut allergies. this seems to be a good and safe alternative. i've also shared this bit of info in my blog.
