Fifty50 No Sugar Added Strawberry Spread
Fifty50 Strawberry Spread is a low calorie, no sugar added spread, but with "80% less calories than regular strawberry preserves." Strawberry is listed as the second ingredient on the label - after water, but believe me, there is no trace of strawberry taste - the closest this comes is a faint strawberry scent. The Fifty50 Spread also doesn't spread very well - very clumpy - but that is really secondary, because I can't think of a reason to use this - certainly not in place of jam, jelly or preserves.
I also wondered why they referred to preserves on the label. Surely they are not suggesting that Fifty50 spread is similar or even a substitute for preserves! Preserves actually have chunks of fruit in them - and there certainly aren't any pieces of fruit in Fifty50.
One tablespoom of Fifty50 Spread is a serving and has 20 calories, no fat, 10 mg of sodium, no protein and 4 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 1 gram of sugars and 3 grams of sorbitol.
Fifty50 makes products for diabetics, but I can't see any uses for this tasteless mess - not even for diabetics or folks on a low carb diet. This is just not a suitable substitute for jam, jelly or preserves.

The only good no sugar added/sugar free jams I have had are made by Smuckers. There are actual chunks of fruit and it doesnt taste chemically and artificial like so many other kinds.
Thanks for the recommendation Monica. I will try the Smuckers brand because this one was just a big disappointment.
