AmysTeriyaki Bowl

Amy'sTeriyaki Bowl consists of a medley of brown rice and vegetables all mixed in with teriyaki sauce of course! I absolutely loved this meal Amy's got this 100% right - and it's also vegetarian and gluten free! You all should know that I don't eat as many veggies as I should, but if I could whip up a meal like this, then I just might start. The vegetables included broccoli, tofu, green beans, mushrooms, carrots, water chestnuts and bell peppers. Whew, Amy's does not skimp on the veggies, which remained firm even after microwaving for 5 minutes. The sauce was on the sweeter side, and all the flavors and textures in this meal came together nicely to provide a great tasting dish.

The Amy's Teriyaki Bowl has 290 calories, 4.5 grams of fat which is 7% of the daily value, less than 1 gram of saturated fat, no trans fat, 33% of the recommended daily amount (RDA) for sodium at 780 mg, 4 grams of fiber which is 18% of the RDA, 15 grams of sugars (52 grams total carbs) and 10 grams of protein. There is also 50% vitamin A and 40% of vitamin C. This meal was filling enough for lunch but you might need to add a small salad with dinner.

I like Amy's but they are priced a bit higher than some other frozen meals, at around $4.00, although I can see why. They obviously put a lot of nutritious ingredients in their meals, and leave out the preservatives or artificial ingredients. The Amy's Teriyaki Bowl was a bit high in sodium, but I thought it was worth every penny and I would definitely buy this again.

Thanks for your review, I have a package in the freezer that I've planned to eat for lunch at my desk this week. Love having more good tasting ways to add vegetables to my diet.

We love all the Amy's products -- have you tried the pizzas yet?! -- but yes, the sodium is rather high. Such is the way of all frozen meals, I guess.

Thanks for the review! I adore teriyaki flavored anything. My favorite Amy's entree is the Meatloaf with tomato based sauce and mashed potatoes, however my local super market no longer carries it. :(

I'm so happy to see you reviewing Amy's products this week. I'm a huge fan of her line and especially enjoy the burritos. In fact, I just ate one for lunch today (bean and cheese)! The teriyaki bowl is another one of my favorites b/c it's not only pretty tasty but fills me up too. Other ones I've tried are the Indian Mattar Paneer (very good), Mexican Tamale pie (also quite yummy but may require another side dish to fill you up), and I also love her soups. Anyways, thanks for putting Amy on the spotlight this week!
