Amys Roasted Vegetable Pizza

Amy's Roasted Vegetable Pizza has no cheese and is vegan. You know what else it is? ... two thumbs up 2 thumbs up Let me tell you, I was very very skeptical about a pizza with no cheese, but I had absolutely no reason to be. I think I actually let out a squeal of delight when I had a bite of Amy's Roasted Vegetable Pizza. The crust of the pizza is plain excellent. The directions are for 10-12 minutes in a conventional oven - no microwave to spoil it. The crust is thick, delicious, and made form organic wheat flour and oat bran - better quality ingredients than bleached enriched flour.

Then there is the pizza sauce. I must get this recipe somehow! Amy's managed to get a sweet tasting sauce that didn't have that overpowering tomato-paste taste that I really dislike on most pizzas. I know they used tomatoes - it says so in the ingredients, but I wonder what else in it. They could bottle it, sell it and make bank just off that - it's that good (maybe they are already doing this?). The toppings are shiitake mushrooms, sweet onions and roasted red peppers and just add the perfect finish to this pizza.

Amy's Roasted Vegetable No Cheese Pizza The picture to the right is from my flickr photo page [check it out]. I forgot to measure the width of the pizza, but I guestimate it is about 10 inches, or about the size of a small pizza that you order from your regular pizza joint. It is 270 calories for 1/3 pizza or 810 calories for the entire thing. There are 9 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, no trans fat, 20% of the required daily amount of sodium, 6 grams of protein and 42 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 3 grams of fiber and 5 grams of sugars. There is also 20% vitamin C. Definitely not too bad nutritionally. I was actually full from eating about half the pizza, with a small bowl of fruit and 12 ounces of V8 Splash [read the updated review].

My previous favorite pizza was the South Beach Diet Grilled Chicken and Vegetable Harvest Wheat Crust Pizza [read the review]. I think I can go with the South Beach pizza for lunch, because it is much smaller and it is microwavable, but Amy's Roasted Vegetable Pizza is now my pizza of choice for an evening meal. It costs around $6.00, but well worth it, especially if you are vegan, or if you want a product that uses mostly organic ingredients and no preservatives.

Cheeseless? That looks good, although somehow many calories for not having any cheese. It looks great though.

This is my favorite frozen pizza by far. They are delicious, and many of the meat-eaters in my life think so too! Highly recommended.

The sauce is mostly caramelized onion, and it's fantastic. One of the only frozen pizzas that I like.

Wow, I'm loving all these reviews of vegetarian friendly frozen entrees. I realized I never emailed you back with a list of my favorites, and felt guilty until I saw all this. Amy's Organic is fantastic. I've been eyeing the cheeseless pizza for a while and now I'll definitely pick one up. Before now, I've mainly stuck with her Tex-Mex entrees and Indian food or splurged on Moosewood. Thanks again for the great reviews, and keep them coming.

i eat this pizza fairly often. but i regularly order pizza with no cheese. (melted oozing cheese is gross.) for me, pizza = crust. California Pizza Kitchen does a great job (for a big chain); they have a "honey wheat" crust that's fab, and a number of "cheeseless" pizzas on their regular menu. yay for CPK (and amy's too)

I too was skeptical about this not having cheese, but I absolutely love this pizza!

I love all of Amys products! From her pizzas to her mac and cheese. I am a meat lover but once i was introduced to Amys products i couldnt stay away!!

Wow now I must try this pizza! I do like the Lean Cusine Spinach and mushroom pizza for lunch. Have you tried that one?

I will try it only because I trust you. Not that it doesn't look appealing, it's just hard for me to get past the no cheese thing.

I've had the pizza before, and its the only forzen pizza I've actually liked besides maybe one or two California Pizza Kitchen pies that turned out well. But the "sauce" isn't sauce at all, I'm pretty sure thats just olive oil with carmalized onions on top. Its absolutly great though, I agree.
I think where our opinions part ways is with the South Beach Diet pizzas. I can't stand the things, or any SBD products for some reason. The cheese tastes like plastic to me.
You know the reason this pizza is so much better than other frozen? Because as long as frozen pizzas aren't going to use whole-milk full-fat cheese anyways (they almost never do) then they should just omit the cheese altogether. I'm always saying this and this is the one frozen meal that gets it right.

I've wondered if the Amy's pizzas were any good. I'll have to give this one a try sometime!

Ooops, anonymous on the post before the last one was me!
Another comment about this pizza: I love the oat bran crust. Most people won't though, because onlike me most people like oatbran cereal. Everyone buy this pizza knowing its full of tastes that must be aquired. If you buy it for your kids, have a back up cheesy pizza too.

I make my own cheeseless pizza...

However, I do miss the convenience of frozen pizza. I trust Amy's brand because everything of hers I've had is delicious, so I'd buy it.

After reading the review, I bought one of these pizzas. Every bit as wonderful as described. Best frozen pizza I ever had!

Ahh, this pizza is delicious. In fact, it may just be the best I've ever eaten--including restaurant pizzas. Yum. I think I'll have one tonight...

this pizza is amazing.....
you could probably make one close to it for cheaper (a few actually) but its worth it...

This pizza is amazing. I've been vegan for years since Im against animal cruelty and eating poison. I buy this all the time and love it. :)

I haven't tried it yet but I just bought it so I'll try it soon. Good thing I had a coupon 'cause this pizza was pricy! Almost $10 and it's not even that big.

You will LOVE it more than I can explain! ;)

Just the best pizza ever. Yum. I admire the person who came up with this recipe. What a great brand. So good, and healthy.
The pizza is five plus stars. I have never tasted a no cheese pizza as grand.

Finally I found a pizza without cheese that is so yummy. Would like to find some coupons for them.

I agree. It's great! I initially got it for my dairy allergic son, but I will easily polish off what he doesn't eat. Delicious!! Trader Joe's had a less expensive version of the same thing...

Yes, these are delicious. I like to add a small 3 oz foil pack pouch of Chicken of the Sea Salmon before cooking. Amy's Kitchen Spinach Pizzas are also great (but don't top this one with salmon). Try two or three drops of Teriyaki sauce and/or Balsamic Vinegar a slice of either. An R.W.Knudsen Black Cherry, Strawberry, or Lemon-Lime Spritzer really complements these, too.
