Yves Veggie Penne
This meal is supposed to be "Vegge Penne in a roasted pepper and garlic sauce with Veggie Ground Round." In other words, it's penne pasta in tomato sauce with ground soy. The first bite had an extremely acidic taste to it, similar to if you drank diluted vinegar. It is really sharp and very unpleasant. I searched the ingredients list for vinegar, but there wasn't any there, but I did see burgundy wine, and that might be the cause. I can't say for sure, but one thing I do know is that this overpowers every other flavor - and the entire contents of the bowl went into the trash. One bowl of Yves Veggie Penne is 210 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat, 31% of the daily value of sodium (730 mg), 12 grams of protein and 36 grams total carbohydrates including 4 grams of fiber and 7 grams of sugar. There is also 20 and 25% of the daily value of calcium and vitamin C. The nutrition is certainly impressive, and the portion is adequate for lunch or part of a small dinner, but this does not make up for the awful taste. I feel like I wasted the $3.79 + tax that I paid for this. Comments

Shae said: I have to disagree with you. I just bought the Yves Penne this week and I loved it. My mother, a non-veg took a bite and also thought it was very good. I also did not taste the "acidic" taste you mentioned. I really think you should try it again -- because you must not of tasted the same meal I did. Maybe it had gone bad? I did notice an expiration date. Well, I thought it was delicious and nutricious... I would reccomend it.

Oh man! I've been waiting for those to go on sale for a long time. It feels like forever. Now I know to avoid that one. Did you know that Hain also owns the Linda McCartney line?
