Starbucks Frappuccino Java Fudge Low Fat Ice Cream Bars
The Java Fudge bars were absolutely delicious! Let's just get that out of the way first. But before I get into more details about the taste and flavor, let me start with the nutrition facts, because from the taste and the creamy, chocolate look of the bar, I was a bit scared as to what I was going to see on the label. One bar is 130 calories, 2 grams total fat, 1 gram saturated fat and 15 grams of sugars - 23 grams total carbohydrates (and 2 Weight Watchers points). 15 grams of sugars is not a whole lot, especially for a product which has chocolate and fudge. I bring up the sugar content, because most of this ice cream bar is a chewy, chocolate-y, thick fudge. In fact, this is a fudge bar, not an ice cream bar. You really can't bite off pieces of the bar. It is more of a lick and suck action going on. And it's a bit messy - but a fun, yummy When I took the first bite of fthe Java fudge bar, I got the immediate taste and smell of coffee. I have no idea why I wasn't expecting this - especially since it is called Starbucks! I thought, "Oh no" because this was late at night and I didn't want the coffee to keep me awake. Thankfully, there wasn't enough coffee in it to stop from sleeping, as I was knocked out about an hour later. There is an outer coating of milk and coffee, which quickly gives way to the fudge center. The fudge is thick and it takes some time to make it disappear. Work in sections. First, like the top quarter portion to get to the fudge. Then suck on the fudge part until it's almost gone before making your way to the next portion of the bar. This was my strategy and it worked to keep things from getting too messy. My little cousin also had this bar, and she is still begging me to buy more. So overall, I would say this is a hit. I was also surprised that the ingredients list was so short and simple: skim milk, milk, sugar, corn syrup, cream, maltodextrin, brewed Starbucks coffee, etc ... There didn't appear to be any artificial sweeteners either. One box of 6 costs $4.49 at the Stop and Shop. That is way too much, so I suggest buying it when it is on sale, as I did. Although I admit I am not a big Starbucks fan (no free wireless internet access), I will grudgingly admit that I loved the Frappuccino Java Fudge bars. Comments

thanks for reminding me about these. being an unembarrassed fan of starbucks (honey there's more to life than wifi! ha), i was all over these when they first came out. then i sorta forgot about them. you've done a wonderful thing for society by reminding me of their existence. and i like your point about how wholesome they are, i.e., not gunked up w/ a whole lot of crappy ingredients
