Natures Promise Honey Whole Grain Cereal
Nature's Promise is the store brand for Stop & Shop supermarket - which also owns PeaPod.com online internet grocery store. You know that organic and foods with no (or less) preservatives and artifiicial ingredients are coming 'back in style' when there is a "store brand" of it. Nature's Promise Honey Whole Grain Cereal has "cruncy fiber twigs, soy protein grahams and honey puffs." The description doesn't sound to me like something that would taste good, but I did like it. It was very crunchy and was slightly sweet, but otherwise it had a very bland taste. I mean that it didn't taste bad or weird, but it really didn't have much of a taste at all. I really liked it though because I just had the sense that this was something that should nourish my body and not necessarily taste of all the junk that we are accustomed to. But I can see where other people might be used to and the intense sweet taste of some cereals may not love this. And there are no strawberries in it, as pictured on the box - I guess you have to add those yourself.
The best part of the cereal has to be the nutrition. There are 10 grams of fiber which is 40% of your daily requirement - in 3/4 cup serving, or 12.5 grams i.e. 50% in 1 cup. In a 3/4 cup serving there is also 110 calories, less than 1 gram of fat, 8 grams of protein and 28 grams total carbohydrates which includes only 7 grams of sugar. Most people eat 1 cup of cereal (at least), so that would be about 137 calories and 9 grams of sugars.
This cereal really reminded me of the Nature's Path Organic Optimum Power Breakfast Cereal which I loved [read the review]. Nature's Path also had 10 grams of fiber, but it had more calories but tasted better and also had omega-3-fatty acids.
Nature's Promise Honey Whole Grain Cereal is a good cereal to choose if you are on a diet. Lots of fiber = staying fuller longer, and after a summer of bad eating and not working out, I will be testing this theory myself.

Ha! I bet the strawberries were pictured on the cover with really teeny type as a 'serving suggestion,' you know like also: 'put in a bowl and use a spoon.' Hey, thanks for the tip!
Other than that, it sounds pretty good.
this looks great to me. Have you ever tried Nature Path brand? it always has tasty good for you food

It tastes just like Kashi GoLean. :) (I think that is what they were going for) It's as healthy as Kashi as well but way cheaper!
I bought it thinking it was going to be a cheaper alternative to Kashi GoLean...and I actually liked it a lot better! They also sell Nature's Promise brand at Giant and Martin's, for those of you who do not live near a Stop and Shop.
