Diet Pepsi Jazz Strawberries and Creme

I have longing to get my hands on the Diet Pepsi Jazz, and I finally spotted the Strawberries and Cream flavor in the local Stop and Shop supermarket - which coincidentally was right around the time that the Indian state of Kerala banned the production and sale of Coca Cola and Pepsi following a report by an environmental group claiming the sodas (in India) contained high levels of pesticide. I always thought that a dark cola and fruit flavors shouldn't be mixed - it's just really hard to pull off. BUT Pepsi clearly knows what they are doing, because the Strawberries and Cream flavor pulls it off, with the same cola taste we all know and love, but with some a creamy undertone - which has a hint of strawberry flavor, but also seems like there is some vanilla in there as well. The soda is also very sweet in my opinion, but there were no funky aftertastes from the use of the sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame-K. There are quite a few reviews of Diet Pepsi Jazz already. The folks over at BevNET liked the Srawberries and Creme, but weren't so kind to the other flavor, Black Cherry French Vanilla (that's a mouthful) [read the review]. And another vote in favor of the flavor from LordJezo over at The Message Whore here although he only gave it 2.5/5 "cheeses." Even the folks over at Slashfood liked it.
Overall, the flavor does taking a bit of getting used to since Pepsi Jazz is a bit of a different taste for most of us, and it is a bit "chemically". I think LordJezo summed it up so eloquently, so let me quote what he said (and then you better go and read his review), "For the rest of us I’d say try it once and don’t bother much again. The black cherry one is okay but the flavors overpower the cola, the strawberries and cream one is just a strange chemical mess, you might as well get some strawberry soda and call it a day."

Why do you think Pepsi went with the name Jazz? Seems a little toonish to me. The flavors definitely are an interesting mix though.
I hate diet pop!! Yet the pepsi jazz strawberries and cream is awesome!!
I really feel they should have stopped while they were ahead, with Diet Cherry Coke. Never been a big Pepsi supporter (though I wouldn't turn down a diet [caffeine-free or not] Pepsi, Pepsi One, or whatever they are calling it these days) Jazz reminded me why.
Although this isn't something I'd drink alot of, I did buy a 12 pack of it and will use it like a "dessert" soda when I'm dying for something sweet on my diet. I'm thinking to take it out of the can and freeze it in something and eat it like an italian ice.
I love Pepsi products and although I was a little wary of this flavored soda, I'm glad I tried it.

Juanita Hill, I have some bad news for you. Its been discontinued. I loved it as well and cant find it so I called Pepsi and they pulled the plug on it. I loved this soda so much!
