Lean Cuisine Spaghetti with Meatballs
I don't normally eat beef, but I was looking forward to a simple back to basics meal after being disappointed with Michelinas Lean Gourmet Rotini with Prosciutto and Basil. When I saw Lean Cuisine Spaghetti with Meatballs, I thought, "how hard could it be to mess up meatballs" so I bought this for $2.50 on sale.
I was actually pleasantly surprised. The folks at Lean Cuisine seem to have added a lot of spices to the meatballs, leaving them with a delicious and distinct taste, even without the tomato sauce. The sauce itself was also flavorful, without the old time gritty tomato paste taste, and the noodles, ... tasted like noodles, which was perfect. Overall, this is a good, solid, tasty meal.
There are 250 calories, 5 grams total fat and 2 grams saturated fat, which is about 10% of the daily value in a 9.5 ounce portion of Lean Cuisine Meatballs. There is also 510 mg of sodium, which is 24% of the daily value, 4 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugars and 18 grams of protein. The serving size was more suitable for lunch - maybe add a small salad if you're looking to make this dinner.
So not bad nutritionally, except for the amout of sodium, and I certainly liked the taste. This is definitely a good, yet simple meal.
