8th Continent Light Soymilk

Milk has calories, soy milk has calories, so if you are trying to cut calories where you can, 8th Continent Soymilk has a Light version. I tried the 'Original' variety, andloved it. It's not too sweet, and there is no strong beany taste which is a characteristic of most soy milks. I had mine with cereal, and I really couldn't tell the difference between the light and full calorie version. I had mine with my morning bowl of cereal (finally finished off that huge box of Kellogg's Flakes with Less Sugar - read the review).
Next, I tried to take a big gulp of this. If you drink it straight (and I don't ever drink soy milk straight, but I tried it for the purpose of this review), at first there is just a mild taste, but then there is a sort of coating left on your tongue, like an aftertaste.
The best thing about 8th Continent Light Soymilk is the nutrition. One cup has only 50 calories, 2 grams of fat, no saturated or trans fat, 2 grams of sugars, 2 grams total carbs, 6 grams of protein, 30% calcium, 25% vitamin D, riboflavin, 15% vitamin B12 and 10% vitamin A. Silk Light has 70 calories and 6 grams of fat. One cup of skim milk contributes 91 calories and 12 grams of sugars.
I still prefer the taste of Rice Dream Rice Milk, but I like the low calorie count of 8th Continent, and it's a little cheaper at $3.50 for the half gallon.

Consider me a convert from Silk to 8th Continent...the improved flavor is excellent with cereal, and if you check labels, it has a lower calorie count.

has helped my cholesterol so much. I have a father that is in
renal failure and can't have the what I call the
horomone junk milk.

Someone please tell me why has the Publix supermarkets stopped selling my 8TH Continent milk. I was forced to by GREENWISE Publix's own brand and honestly it was just as excellent as 8th continent. I used it to make smoothies, eat cereal and I drank it straight and it was marvelous. Where can I get coupons for 8TH Continent I will just have to buy it from Kroger instead. (GEORGIA CONSUMER)

The chocolate version of this is awesome. It's as good as or better than regular chocolate milk, and far lower in calories. The only problem is that it's so good I gulp it down too fast!
After trying 8th Continent Complete, I have given up milk. After several months, several of my health has improved. The 8th Continent Soymilk website has a lot of delicious smoothie recipes to cool off your summer,and fun contests to heat you up.
