Vlasic Pickles

Who doesn't love pickles? I certainly do. I love them on my sandwiches, on the side with my sandwich, and from time to time, I enjoy eating a whole pickle as a snack. Pickles are actually pickled cucumbers. The cucumbers are "cooked in spiced sugar syrup to make sweet pickles; or pickled in brine or placed in a vinegar solution with spices, to make sour pickles" [Wikipedia]. Cucumbers are one of the best au natural foods/snack [read the review].
Vlasic pickles are great - one of the best brands of pickles out there, in my opinion. The pickles are thick, crispy, firm, juicy and salty. Very salty. In fact, that's the downside to pickles. If you eat just one whole Vlasic pickle, there aren't many calories, just 5, but there are 210 mg of sodium, which is 9% of the recommended daily amount. That's really not too outrageous, but people with (or with a family history of hypertension) have to be careful about consuming too much sodium in their diet. Vlasic also makes smaller snack size baby Dill Pickels (Kosher). One serving, 5 of these small pickles, has 280 mg sodium which is 12% of the RDA.
One 16 ounce bottle costs of Vlasic pickles costs about $3.00. If you don't overdo sodium in other foods, I think most of us will be able to enjoy a pickle spear or two, without worrying too much about the sodium, and really enjoy the fact that we are only getting 5 calories too. As usual, moderation is key.

I'm a big pickle fan too, and the Vlasic brand is my favorite. I think the kinds you buy refrigerated (like the Vlasic) are the crunchiest.
My favorite is the Hearty Garlic Kosher Dills. Yummmmmm.

Where can I find aplain old SOUR pickle? Please---no dill,nothing sweet just the good Sour pickle. THey are seldom to be found within fifty miles of here and I don't get farther away very often. The last time I was able to find them I bought all four jars!

I love your product, however, I object to the commercial where you scare a cat sitting in a window.You should not have to make any thing uncomfortable to sell your products. They sell themselves because they are the best. Now I associate Vlasic pickles with scaring a cat needlessly.

I don't like your new commercial, scaring that poor cat in the window. I don't find it funny, at all. I really love your pickles, but I won't eat them now. It may seem drastic to stop eating them, but scaring the heck out of that cat was sick and wrong.

I just saw the ad with the cat in the window too. It's very insensitive and why would they compromise a real animal like that? I have emailed the company with a complaint.
I too,have a problem watching your 'cat on the windowsill'waiting again,to be scared,and for what?For whose pleasure?Not mine!Who are these "cat hater/torturer"people)that hates cats so much,that thats ALL THEY can come up with.People like them get a sexual thrill too,so they don't want to love a 'feline'(feminin for girl)b/c they,being homophobic and not wanting to be 'found out',so they band together-these 'homos'called Bears and Cubs,it was shown on Kathy Griffin-she showed these big men who look for Cubs,who want to 'be' with Bears-sexually!-and they no doubt have played a sport so they could see each other in the shower.My sons are not gay,their friends are not gay,they all are nice to animals,and don't see cats or dogs as something they can 'get off sexually' by seeing it afraid or hurt!Who is the Boss who okayed that commercial?Is he a Bear?
You people who think that cat was really scared are just nuts. That cat was in no way scared--it's just a camera trick and the cat was probably hundreds of miles away when the film was put together. That gorgeous shaded-silver shorthair cat looks just like my late kitty who was a quadruple grand champion. Fabulous cat! American shorthairs have nerves of steel--unless there's something wrong with them.
I think it is a cruel commercial that either sprayed a cat with water or air . causing fear in animals and then laughing about it is surely not what we should be as humans
I have also written the company with a complaint. Scaring cats and that little girl eating with her mouth open. Vlasic, you can do a lot better with your commercials! They are disgusting. Hire another advertising team!

I think the Vlasic pickles commercial is of poor taste. I love Vlasic pickles; but I promise myself not to buy any of them due to their dis-tasteful ad.
You can't say you love pickles and then say Vlasic pickles are great. It just doesn't make sense. They are a mass produced product that are fine. I'm fortunate to live in NYC where we have tons of delicious local pickles to choose from that are scrumptious. Certainly, in more rural areas, there are even more local choices. I also hate the new Vlasic commercial. I think it speaks to the company's taste.
