Diet Trash: Mrs. Freshlys Jumbo HoneyBun

MrsFreshlys Mrs. Freshlys Jumbo HoneyBun can be found in most vending machines, but I am here to warn you - stay clear, because this is truly DietTrash!. Mrs. Freshley's Jumbo Honey Bun has won the "Pastry Product of the Year" several times according to the website, but I'm sure they haven't won any awards for nutrition, because one honey bun - which incidentally is not as 'jumbo' as you may think - has 580 calories, 43% of the daily value for total fat (28 grams), and 62% of the daily value for saturated fat. Diet Trash There is also 380 mg of sodium, or 16% of the RDA, and 39 grams of sugars. Like I said in my review of apples and oranges, take fruits to work with you, so you are not tempted to eat DietTrash like this!

I've had these before. They are sickenly sweet, so I should be able to steer clear of them.

God, I just ate one .. Wish I'd read this site about 15 minutes ago. I feel like yakking.

Very, very high in calories, this is true. A poor snack indeed. However, I would like to point out (not to suggest that it makes a perfect snack, but rather that it's not totally evil) that it does not use High Fructose Corn Syrup. It uses regular sugar. Sugar our body's know how to handle. HFC screws with our body's chemistry too much and confuses the whole insulin production and whatnot. Also, though it does have a high fat content, it has 0 grams of transfats. If you must eat a sugary, syrupy-sweet pastry-esque snack, this isn't so bad (the lesser of two evils i would say).

Still, you are better off eating an orange or an apple, as suggested here.

I just ate one and I feel like I have been run over by a drunken reindeer. I can feel my teeth getting fat.

I've never had the jumbo honey bun, but I just can't get enough of those fudge nuts! Hey Sarah, don't give up on 'em just yet, they are simply delightful, just like you sound from your comment. You have a wonderful essence, would you like to chat online sometime? You can find me on myspace ;) Anyways guys, I just wanted to say that they fill you up when you have that empty hole in your life and you just need a little sweet thing.

I have been a Honey Bun eater for many years...Several Brands have been enjoyed...I stopped eating Little Debbies-because the bun kept getting smaller and smaller...Now, here you go--The Buns are so small now you can eat it with one bite...You could get 9 (nine) Buns in the package or more...You should put on the box--Mini-Honey Buns..If you want to sell a product and have Happy customers--Give them More Not Less..Your Bun showed on front panel is very misleading and borders on false advertising even with your very little disclaimer...Prices keep going up with size and quality going down...We will not be buying anymore.....RHB

Mrs. Freshley's now makes Pecan Twirls in 100-calorie packs. They looked good. But I didn't buy 'em. Saw them at the 99 Cents Store. Instead, I bought Mrs. Fresley's Apple Cinnamon Cereal Bars, which are also only 100 calories and 2 grams of fat.

ive heard these things make a certain male feature bigger. has anyone else heard that? is it true?

I've eaten one of these recently (within the last 30 seconds) and have to say that it is the best honey bun ever to enter my mouth. I can feel my arteries hardening. My body is going into insulin shock, but darn is it DELICIOUS!!! It says on the package: delicious microwaved. GENIUS! I will eat another one tomorrow night and have it microwaved. Hey, look here at the label, it says 0 grams trans fat per serving. HEALTHY ENOUGH FOR ME! #1 seller, it says, I'll bet. I'm going to buy stock in this company. WOW! It is going to be horrible when I come down from this sugar high, but oh man, is it worth it. I 100% straight love these honey buns. Thank you, Mrs. Freshley. Thank you from the bottom of my stomach.

@Brady I'll love to meet you in heaven - I'll probably be there 20-30 years after you, since I am no longer eating these Jumbo buns - but keep a lookout for me :0)

These things are terribly wonderful! I just had an internal battle over whether or not to eat one. My mind said "No," but my body said, "YES! RIGHT NOW!" I succumbed to the pressure after a pitiful 38 seconds. mmmm....the roof of my mouth still feels like someone coated it with sugared vaseline. It's like eating a small, greasy, cinnamony-yummy pillow. If you value your health, stay away from these. If you like super-soft pillowy sweet nastiness, eat one, and then have another for me.
