Lean Cuisine Vegetable Egg Roll
Lean Cuisine Vegetable Egg Roll is (according to the website) "filled with a seasoned blend of cabbage, carrots, celery, and onions. Accompanied by an Oriental dipping sauce with orange and ginger accents, and a side of long grain rice with vegetables." What really put this meal over the top in terms of taste is the sauce - which was the perfect companion to make a possibly bland tasting meal. I gently rolled the egg roll in a bit of the sauce, bit into it, and it was delicious! The crust of the egg roll is soft but crispy. It isn't overstuffed with cabbage, so I was able to really enjoy the contrast between the crispy crust, with the softer vegetables and then the sweet sauce. My only complaint - there's only 1 eggroll. Maybe I'm being a bit greedy, but while this was satisfactory for lunch, it wouldn't have been enough for my dinner. The only thing that could spoil this would be the nutrition, which was, thankfully, not too bad. There are 310 calories, 5 grams of total fat (7% of the RDA), 1 gram of saturated fat, 26% of the recommended daily allowance of sodium (640 mg), 17 grams of sugar, 3 grams of fiber and 7 grams of protein. There is also 40% of vitamin A as an added bonus. So while the sodium and sugar content are bit on thie high side, I really liked the taste of this frozen dinner, and I would purchase it again. I am always partial to the frozen meals with vegetables in them because I don't always eat as much veggies as I should. It doesn't hurt either that Lean Cuisine was on sale at the time of purchase, for $2.50. Comments
