Lean Cuisine Sesame Chicken

Lean Cuisine Sesame ChickenLean Cuisine Sesame Chicken has "sesame breaded chicken tenderloins in a tangy Asian style plum sauce accented with ginger and topped with roasted sesame seeds served aside pasta tossed with sesame oil, green beans and red peppers" but frankly, I was not that impressed. It's not that it tasted bad, it's more that it was just okay. But I suppose not everything can taste spectacular! I liked the taste of the sesame chicken. It was like a mild sweet and sour chicken flavor, with sesame seeds for garnish. I thought that it was an odd choice to pair sesame chicken with pasta. The pasta had thin spaghetti like noodles, and somehow it made the meal less filling and less tasty than if a vegetable and rice meddley had been used for example.

There are 340 calories in this meal, along with 9 grams of fat (14% of the recommended daily allowance), 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 650 mg of sodium, which is 27% of the RDA, 15 grams of sugars (49 grams total carbs) and 15 grams of protein . Nutritionally, it could be a bit better in terms of sodium and sugars. I hate the fact that I'm adding to my sugar intake by not even eating something sweet (or drinking soda)!

I wouldn't say this is one of my favorite Lean Cuisine meals, but it's good enough that it was worth the sale price of $2.50.

Mmm, looks like chicken nuggets!

This is by far by favorite LC dish... I think it is actually my favorite "diet" food.

This too is my favorite LC (I also really like the round personal pizzas). I love the sesame chicken, which is moist and tasty, and the sauce. I happen to like the fact that it is served with pasta, and I like mixing the pasta in with the tangy sauce. If I could find a similar enough recipe, I would go to the trouble of making this myself. I hope LC continues to carry this. I do wish the sodium and sugar were less, but overall, I feel pretty satisfied when I have this for lunch on occasion that I'm eating fairly healthy.

This is my absulute favorite frozen meal!
