Kelloggs Frosted Flakes with Less Sugar
As a child Kelloggs Frosted Flakes were my favorite cereal. As an adult, I stopped eating frosted flakes because I figured that there was way too much sugar in it, and there probably was. But now, even in regular Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, there is about 16 grams of sugar per cup, which is about average for most cereals. When I saw that there was now a "1/3 less sugar" version, I almost jumped for joy. Was it possible that I might be once again be able to enjoy a cereal that I once had so much love for?
Unfortunately, this lower sugar version tastes like regular conflakes, and nothing like the frosted flakes that I remember. If I wanted cornflakes - I would have just bought cornflakes! I was truly disappointed
. I was really expecting more sweetness and better taste. One thing I cannot say, is that I wasted my money, because for $2.89 I got a huge 1 lb box of cereal - I don't think there will be anymore cereal reviews for a few months.
One cup of this lower sugar Kellogg's frosted flakes has 120 calories, 8 grams of sugars and 10-25% of quite a few vitamins and minerals. The nutrition isn't that bad, and this yogurt is very kid friendly (you know the Tony the Tiger character is too cute!), so your kids might think they are having tons of sugar, and cool frosted flakes cereal, but it really isn't that bad for them. Needless to say, I don't think I will be buying this cereal again, no matter how inexpensive - but a lot of that is really because I just had higher expectations.

Is this like the General Mills less sugar cereals, where the have less sugar but somehow the same amount of calories for the same size serving? Less sugar but more "corn syrup solids"? or evaporated cane juice?
