Kashi Organic Promise Strawberry Fields Cereal
It's no secret that I love Kashi. I have reviewed some excellent products offered by them, such as Kashi Go Lean Crunch, my favorite cereal, and Kashi Organic Promise Autumn Wheat Cereal. And here is another great tasting, nutritious cereal from Kashi. This cereal resembles cornflakes with strawberry pieces. But of course, Kashi set themselves apart. The freeze dried strawberries in the cereal are BIG. There is no searching and digging around the box. The pieces are big, plenty, and they definitely add the unique bitter/sweet taste of strawberries to the cereal. Then there are the actual cereal flakes. They are crispy, sweet and don't get too soggy too soon. How does Kashi do it? A clue may be in the ingredients. "Organic long grain rice, organic evaporated cane juice, organic whole wheat, organic freeze-dried strawberries, sea salt, organic brown rice syrup and organic freeze dried raspberries." All organic, no high fructose corn syrup - that should make many people happy.
The nutrition is not bad either. There are 120 calories in 1 cup, along with 0 grams of fat, 9 grams of sugar and 1 gram of fiber. I don't know how this cereal manages to taste so sweet with only 9 grams of sugars! Kashi is a bit more costly than other cereals at $3.50, and I think that was on sale, but I think it's totally worth it. Another great product from Kashi!

hi there... thank you from my granddaughter who loves your cereal....i buy a box each week (4 a month) fir 3 months... when audrey comes home from college to visit she has 12 boxes to rake back with her.... on to my comment... auds tells me that in the last few boxes there were hardly any strawberries....i want to continue to do this for her as there is not too much i can help her with, as i am on s.s. limited income...anyway just thought i would let you know.. i am very sure auds will continue to eat your cereal as she is a young woman who is pretty steady in anything she does....

This cereal, it is definitely not as healthy an option as other Kashi products as it's 1st ingredient is not a whole grain(brown rice) but white rice which accounts for it's very low fiber rating. Then there is the high sugar content. I suspect that Kashi is trying to win a younger audience, but I felt duped after buying the product only to realize that it was not up to Kashi health standards.
I'm a 53 yr old man. I never ate cereal, even as a kid growing up in NYC. Now, I'm in pretty good health, have had my share of health issues. Doctor told me to lower caffeine intake and watch what I eat. I tried this, based on it's look and appeal in the store. Very tasty and about as healthy a cereal as I care to go. I'm not an ingredient counting nut.. As long as their is no trans fat and other figures are low, it's healthy enough. I like it cause it's tasty and not a kid's tasting cereal. And, it's gotta be healthier than eating belly bombers from White Castle in the am.
Well, I used to love this cereal. Recently, however, there seems to bit little if any actual strawberries in the cereal. Quite frankly I went through an entire box and only found three slices of strawberry... honestly... why do you call it strawberry fields anymore?
