Pepperidge Farm Five CheeseTexas Toast

Texas ToastWhy, oh why ... oh why did domebody have to come up with a way to make Texas Toast a convenience food! It is the most delicious tasting, crispy, cheesy, thick ... greatest invention in bread since slice bread. There's Pepperidge Farm garlic toast, cheese toast, and even whole grain texas toast, but it realy doesn't matter which one you get, because at 150 calories per slice, 7 grams of fat and 2 grams of saturated fat - they all can be diet sabotage! Diet Trash Now, while I think 1 slice can make for a nice treat or reward for yourself if you are on a diet, I KNOW that I have to eat 2 slices. That's when we / I will run into problems. I don't want 20% of my daily fat intake to come from 2 pieces of toast.

I lived in Texas for a couple of years, and yes, meals came with Texas toast (or chips and salsa). I looooved eating that toast. It is also ridiculously buttery. I am a little glad that I now live in a place (DC) where a meal doesn't come with enormous slices of buttery toast. But meals do still come with chips and salsa, a weakness of mine.

Gosh: we must have been friends in another life, because chips and salsa are my ultimate weakness!

I cut the toast in half so its like i have 2 :)

One time I ate 7 of these puppies. Still skinny but not for long! Heehaw!

My mom put my dad on a diet. Then she served these puppies for the convenience. I don't think she checked her nutritional facts.

This post gave me a little chuckle.
