Diet Mountain Dew Code Red

Diet Mountain Dew Code Red is a cherry flavored soda, which is a nice departure from the usual dark colas and citrus sodas. You can taste the light cherry flavor in Code Red, but it's not a very sweet cola, in fact, it's not as sweet as Diet Cherry Coke, and I actually prefer the Diet Mountain Dew Code Red. But with a name like Code Red, I expected more 'bite' - more 'uumphh' - more 'pizzazz'! I mean Code Red implies Watch Out! - but this lightly flavored cherry cola was anything but memorable. How about a little tabasco sauce or something to spice things up a bit?
Other than the cherry taste, there is little else in the way of flavor of Code Red. It's not sweet, and has a similar taste to most of the other aspartame /acesulfame K soda taste - think Diet Coke-ish. I think Diet Code Red tastes better than Diet Coke, not as good as Diet Pepsi - somewhere in between. And like most diet sodas, there are no calories, no sugar, no vitamins. Overall, my favorite diet soda is still Diet Sprite Zero.

Hmm...Never seen Diet Mountain Dew Code Red, but I'm a fan of the regular Code Red. Also, Diet Sprite Zero does rock.
i live in central Pa. and nobody has diet code red and they don't seem to get any more. how come?
