Each bagel is pretty big at 104 grams, which means good value for your money - if only these had some better nutrition. Unfortunately, each bagel has 290 calories, 470 mg sodium (20% of the daily value) and no vitamins. We are not suggesting that 290 calories is particularly high, but it is when this is just breakfast. Add 100 calories from 2 tablespoons of cream cheese and another 120 calories from a glass of orange juice, and you've just had 500 calories from breakfast!
A bowl of one of one of my favorite cereals, Honey Bunches of Oats, has 120 calories. Add another 86 calories from skim milk, and a piece of fruit, lets say a banana which has 110 calories, and that's still only 316 calories, and you're getting lots more vitamins and minerals.
