Morningstar Farms Veggie Sausage Links

Veggie SausageMorningstar Farms Veggie Sausage Links are made to look like meat sausages, but I don't think many people would accuse this product of actually tasting like meat. I found it to be almost flavorless - this is one product that could actually use more salt. I also missed the 'juiciness' of real sausage links as this was a bit dry. Nevertheless, although the veggie sausages don't actually taste as good as their meaty counterparts, the taste is 'not that bad' and it's at least edible if not great on taste.

One serving or 2 sausage links, are 80 calories, 3 grams of fat, 0.5 grams saturated fat, 300 mg sodium (13% of the recommended daily amount) and 2 grams of fiber (also 3 carbs). There's also 10-25% of a few vitamins and minerals. I love the fact that there is a more nutritious sausage option, because those meaty varieties can have a lot of fat, but I'm not too fond of the taste of these. Vegetarians should also note that these veggie sausages have egg whites in them.

We get these sometimes, the kids seem to eat them o.k. They taste best when "browned" in a skillet with some olive oil. I use the term brown loosely as there is fine line with these between browning and microbubbling the surface. Eat them hot and dip them in some good syrup for best results. For worst results, eat one cold that has been microwaved. My favorite "healthier" sausage is the chicken sausage links they have at trader joes...

I think the the Morningstar Farms sausage patties are more flavorful. Give them a try instead of the links. One patty constitutes one serving, though, at 3 grams of fat per serving.

Two for two... swish! These things were bland, and the texture was way too soft. Sausage just isn't about looks, it's about the smell wafting through the kitchen, the spicy taste, the chewy-yet-resistant, juicy, meaty texture, and its ability to be combined with both sweet and savory condiments and every manner of breakfast bread. During my stint as a vegetarian, sausage was one of the meat items that I missed the most (can you tell?) and Morningstar Farms just blew it, here... chuck these and pick up some Boca breakfast patties, if you want to keep it meatless.

OMG! These are my absolute favorite morning sausage. I don't eat pork (never have) and these are the best ever. My 23 daughter loves them more than I do. She takes a box out of the freezer everytime she comes over. I just heat them in the microwave, add a little salt and black pepper and you're good to go. They are great for the Zone Diet.

I am looking for the Gardenburger Gluten-Free Sausages. My daughter was just diagnosed with Celiacs. She loved your sausages but now can not have them. I hope you have these available because their is not a whole lot to choose from Gluten-Free Sausages.

sorry to say, i like this links.. they're tasty and not really fattening, aaaand no animals had to be slaughtered for me to enjoy them. yay! i agree with a commenter who said to try the patties. they're more fattening, but they're a 5 star food, in my humble opinion.

Definitely lacking in aroma, texture and flavor when you are really craving sausage. I do love them cut up and mixed in with my scrambled eggs topped with melted cheese. Filling, delicious, low-fat and vegetarian.
