This week it is all about Ice cream, after all July is National Ice cream Month. Check out all our Reviews of Ice cream of the low fat variety of course. Try a flavor you haven't tried before.

KikkomanHopefully, everyone knows by now that condiments and food ingredients make the calorie count of our meals add up. Unitl recently, I didn't know that it was possible to season meat without adding soy sauce to it. I ran out, and had no way to get to the grocery store, so I grudgingly did without it - and my chicken still came out surprisingly good. This was good (for me) to know because 1 tablespoon of Kikkoman Soy Sauce has 920 mg of sodium, which is 36% of the recommended daily amount. Diet Trash For those of you who don't use soy sauce in your cooking - 1 tablespoon is nothing! I add like 1/4 cup - which is 4 tablespoons. Soy sauce is also what's added to fried rice for you chinese food lovers - so you can imagine the sodium levels of that!

Try Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce-- it has 40% less sodium than the regular. Even better is Trader Joe's low sodium soy sauce (it has a green top)-- it boasts even less sodium per tablespoon.

The trader joe variety has 460 mg per tablespoon. They claim its 60% less sodium than the regular which has 1220 mg. Based on that, the stuff you have been eating is already somewhat low sodium. Make you feel better? I like your diet trash stamp by the way!!

My sister is a total soy sauce snob, she'll only eat the kikoman brand, but for some reason, I find it a bit harsh tasting.

I love kikkoman too - only brand I use. I'm definitely going to try the low sodium version. Thanks for the tip Kim.

Kikkoman is my least favorite soy sauce, I think it is way too salty.

I love kikkoman and in college I used to make stir fried rice all the time. I was worried about my salt intake and tried the lite stuff and looking at the ingredients it just appeared to me that the only dif was they added more water for the same price. Therefore if you want lite just combine any regular soy with water to get less salt and save money by getting more instead of paying the same for less
