Horizon Organic Lowfat Yogurt

Horizon organic Yogurt Wow, wow, wow, WOW! Horizon Organic Low fat Yogurt tastes delicious. I had the strawberry flavor, and now I know what yogurt is actually supposed to taste like! It's smooth, creamy and fruity. My only very small gripe - no fruit pieces, and you should know by now that I LOVE my yogurt to have small pieces of fruit in it. This yogurt is blended, but to tell the truth - I didn't even miss the little fruity bits when I was eating this. Horizon products are also made from organic ingredients, so the ingredients list reads like oragnic grade A pasteurized milk, organic sugar, organic strawberries ... you get the picture.

Something that tastes so good can't be good for you. Can it? Well, a 6 ounce container has 170 calories, which is a bit much, only 2 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber, a whopping 30 grams of sugar and 7 grams of protein. There's also 25% calcium, 8% vitamin C, 2% vitamin A. Way too much sugar - 30 grams is about 7 teaspoons of sugar.

1 teaspoon of sugar is equivalent to 4 grams. We love the fact that this is low fat, great taste and organic too, but there's just too much sugar, and too many calories. Each 6 ounce container costs $0.99, which is a bit more expensive than many other yogurts. Since I'm not trying to lose weight - I would indulge in this every now again, but I don't think I'm giving up my favorite yogurt [yet] and regular readers should know by now that Yoplait Light is my fave!
