Breyers Light Probiotic Plus Lowfat Yogurt

Breyres Light YogurtBreyers light with probiotic plus has 10 times the yogurt culture of regular yogurt, according to CoolBrands International. "Unlike the harmful bacteria that cause infections and trigger allergic reactions, probiotics actually do the opposite - they protect against harmful bacteria, in addition to helping with the many tasks involved in digestion. Probiotic bacteria even produce their own natural antibiotics, called bacteriocins, which destroy bad bacteria." I must confess that I'm still not sold on the idea of eating something with extra "bacteria" in it, whether it's good or not.

This yogurt tastes okay though. It's the blended kind - no fruit pieces the way I like it, and it does have a slightly less thick texture, and slightly less sweet tatste than regular yogurts due to the use of the artificial sweeteners aspartame and acesulfame-K.

There are still 110 calories in this yogurt, onlt 1.5 grams total fat, 1 gram saturated fat, 10 grams of sugar, and 105 mg sodium (4% of recommended daily amounts). There is also 10% of the RDA of vitamins A and D, and 20% for calcium.

The 6 ounce container cost $0.50 which is about the same as other yogurts. I think I might try this again in the future, but I'm not really that impressed with it.

It comes in 8 oz cups for 50 cents and military commissaries sell it for about $0.40. I think these are the best tasting "LIGHT" yogurts I've had. I saw aspartame was in it and though "oh, no" but I really couldn't taste it like in most other light yogurts. I'm eating the cherry jubilee right now and it does have fruit pieces. I like them and will be buying them again.

I love this yogurt! It's 8 oz at my store and $1 each, but I buy it on sale. It's thick, creamy, sweet tasting without the bitter backbite of other yogurts. Plus it's healthy. I've taken Garden of Life Probiotic products for years, but since I've started eating this yogurt, I spend much less money. The Peach taste like homemade peach icecream, the strawberry cheesecake and blueberry, the dark cherry are all the best!!!!. I've just started the CURVES diet and I can have this yogurt onthe CURVES plan. It meets the desire I sometimes have for just a taste of something sweet.

I have been eating Breyers Light probiotic yogurt 8 oz. for the past few years for lunch 5 days a week, enjoying the variety of flavors available. I was a Dannon fan until they went to the 6 oz. size. When you are eating yogurt for a meal you need more than 6 oz. Now in my local grocery stores Breyers is now featuring THEIR 6 oz. I am truly annoyed at this so called NEW item. It looks as if I'm going to have to shop around for another brand. Breyers! Please keep the 8 oz. for heavens sake, it's only 110 calories. Sign me an unhappy customer.

I have been buying Breyer's Light in the 8 oz. cup for quite a while . Today I can't find the 8 oz., only the 6 oz. This is totally unacceptable. I will have to find another brand.Why did you do it?

Caution;
Breyers has Aspartame in its ingredients!! That is the reason many choose other brands. What a shame it was good.
