DanActive Light Probiotic Dairy Drink

DanActiveHave you seen this in the supermarket? It's right where they keep the yogurt. Look again, because these bottles are so small, containing only 3 fluid ounces, that you might have missed them the first time around. The pack comes with 4 of these small bottles for $1.93. The 'price for the amount you get ratio' seems to be off for this one. For 2 bucks I could have bought a gallon of Arizona Diet Green Tea.

So how does this taste? I had the strawberry flavor and it has a a slight yogurt taste, with a wee bit of tartness to it, which I really liked. The consistency is more liquid than those yogurt smoothies that's been popping up lately, more like that of milk, which is the first ingredient. "What's this probiotic stuff all about" you ask. Well, the drink contiains the culture (bacteria) "L. casei Defensis", which is supposed to promote the growth of the good bacteria in your gut, which will in turn help eliminate some of the bad bacteria, and improve your overall digestive and immune system. DanActive was so confident that drinking this beverage would 'work' for you that they had a money back challenge from February to June 2005 have the DanActive challenge until March 2006, where if you drank DanActive once a day for a month and didn't notice positive results, then you could get your money back.

What about the other nutritional values you ask? There are 40 calories, 5 grams of sugar, 3 grams fiber, 3 grams protein and 10% calcium, so it's not bad nutritionally - although I would have liked to see a little more vitamins and minerals in this beverage.

I was having really bad stomach aches. On advice of my gastroenterologist, I began drinking DanActive daily. Within 2 weeks, all cramps and aches were gone. Only problem is that the distribution is VERY limited. I have only found it in Publix stores in Atlanta, GA. Can never find it while traveling.

I LOVE THE PRODUCT! BUT I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU... WITH ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WITH PLASTIC ETC. NOT BEING RECYLED ETC. AND CLUTTERING UP OUR WORLD - WHY NOT PUT THIS DRINK OUT IN A QUART (OR AT LEAST A PINT SIZE) CONTAINER - SO THERE WILL BE LESS MILLIONS OF BOTTLES FILLING UP OUR LANDFILLS? HOW LAZY ARE WE, THAT WE CAN'T POUR OUT 3 OUNCES INTO A GLASS AND DRINK IT - INSTEAD OF THROWING OUT 7 CONTAINERS A WEEK FOR EACH PERSON THAT IS DRINKING IT? HOW MANY DO YOU THINK ACTUALLY GET RECYLED?? PLEASE THINK ABOUT THAT. LIKE I SAID - LOVE THE PRODUCT/BUT HATE THE PACKAGING CONCEPT FOR THE SAKE OF OUR ENVIRONMENT.
