One slice of pizza can sometimes have more calories and fat than an entire 'healthy' dinner. But for some reason, people just love the taste of pizza, myself included of course! So pair the word pizza with the word lean, and it's definitely worth a try. Before even going to what this tastes like though, lets check out if this Lean Pocket Pizza is really ... lean. The front of the box proudly proclaims that there are only 6 grams of fat and 200 calories in each pizza pocket (the box comes with 2). So far, so good. Turning over the box to get a look at the rest of the nutrition shows that this is not the evil add-fat-to-thighs pizza that I thought it might be. Only 2 grams of saturated fat, 25 mg cholesterol, 540 mg sodium (23% of the daily value), 7 grams of fiber and 24 grams protein. It's just a wee bit on the high side for sodium, but let's face it, this is probably the best we'll ever get for anything with the word pizza in the name.
A box with 2 pockets cost about $2.50, and is totally worth it. This pocket was like a mini pizza in every way. After heating it up, the crust is a cross between soft and crispy. The Supreme has green peppers, italian sausage, mozarella cheese, onions, and pepperoni. There is plenty of pizza filling in the pocket, so it won't taste like you're eating mostly crust. I must confess that I had both pizza pockets for dinner - I couldn't resist.
