V8 Splash
Since writing this review on September 16, 2005, a lot has happened to my beloved V8. You came out with a "33% less sugar version" which I hated. I even wrote a review /letter to you [read it here] about how much I disliked the new and 'improved' you. You were originally 80 calories for an 8 ounce cup of juice, 18 or maybe 24 grams of sugar - which is not really that bad. To put things into perspective, Coca Cola has about 27 grams. There is also 100% of Vitamin A and 130% of Vitamin C in V8 Splash. But in the 33% less version you were 70 calories and 16 grams of sugar, but not worth it in my opinion. It has been one year since I touched a drink of V8 Splash. Now your label on the Strawberry Kiwi flavor says Antioxidant Plus A-C-E vitamins and you are 70 calories and 18 grams of sugar (4 calories per gram x 18 grams = 72 calories ...). You also have 100% vitamin A, C and 20% vitamin E. You also have sucralose (Splenda), which I am very sure wasn't in the original version. I never paid attention before, but now that I am, I realise that your first two ingredients are water and high fructose syrup (HFCS) - oh how I wish there was more juice than HFCS, but I must admit that I like your original taste better, but this is a very close second. You still also contain only 10% juice. I like the taste better than the original 33% version - although I suspect that you might have just added a little more sugar and removed the 33% thing from the label. Nevertheless, I still like you V8 - just not as much as I used to. Taste:

D Rock said: Why is V8 splash so unhealthy, yet it's marketed as healthy? Shouldn't this be illegal? V8 is extremely unhealthy for a fruit juice that contains only 10% fruit and water and high fructose corn syrup (one of the worst things you could ever consume) outrank actual fruit and vegetables.

I love V8 Splash! It's probably one of the only "healthy" fruit drinks my mother could get me to drink back when it first came out. One of the greastest things about it is that it actually has fruit in it. I don't know any other fruit drinks that are 100% fruit but if I find any I'll comment on it. ^_^
