Lucky Charms Cereal
It might just be me, but I never thought of Lucky Charms cereal as a healthy choice. Thank goodness that I tried this and it was totally by accident. I was hungry and my roommate had this cereal handy. The cereal has a sweet taste, but not too much so, but what really makes this yummy are the little baby marshmallows in it. You are eating, crunching on some good tasting cereal, and then you feel a small amount of sweet, chewy, soft, delicious, marshmallow-y stuff. It's a great combination, even if you are not a big fan of marshmallows. I loved it so much, I went out and bought my own box.
Before I rushed out and got my own though, I checked out the nutrition. First things first - the sugar! Cereals can have a lot of sugar in them - yes parents, it's a conspiracy to make your kids hyperactive - just kidding - not really. But this only had 13 grams per 1 cup serving. That's not bad at all. It's about half as much as you find in most fruit juices. There are also 120 calories, no fat, low sodium and 10 - 25% of many, many vitamins and minerals. And, just in case you haven't heard the buzz yet, all General Mills cereals are now made with whole grains.

Lucky Charms is a pretty great option at only 2 Weight Watcher points. I like to mix it with All-Bran for a total of 4 points. I call the combo "the sacred and the profane."
Lucky Charms is not healthy!!!
Please could anyone tell me were i can get lucky charms from but without having to pay shipping costs as i live in the uk and it costs a bomb???
Thanks
Lucky charms is more of a guilty pleasure for me..but I guess it good be a better alternative to chips or a candy bar! Not tops in nutrition thiugh I have to say. I like the idea of mixing it with fiber cereal though!
how dumb are u ppl? i was reading this and i almost puked.
lucky charms is not healthy! and whole grains make u constipated!
Hmm..."whole grains make u constipated?" And you're calling everyone else dumb?
This makes me happy! I feel like I can start eating Lucky Charms guilt-free (well sort of)!
ridiculous. Lucky charms has high fructose corn syrup - - not healthy
No one is dumb, the companies work hard to make you think it is healthy. If you get constipated from grain, you likely have a gluten intolerance. the modified corn starch contains lots. As for the corn syrup, its not high fructose in this case, so at least you are not eating mercury, but your body and liver can not process that the way it would natural juice sugars. So in the long run you are doing more damage than the fat content alone leads you to believe. Your liver is what breaks down fat and you are gumming it up with corn syrup solids. Eating whole foods is the only way to help this. Plenty of whole food fats actually help your metabolism. So, no it's not healthy at all to eat this. But it tastes good.
If eating Lucky Charms helps people lost weight, I say they do it. The health benefits of losing weight should largely outweigh (no pun intended) any damage one would do by eating corn syrup a few times a week.
I like Lucky Charms. If you want to avoid most of the sugar don't eat the mallow bits in them. That's right mallow bits. They are not real mashmallows but some sort of made sugar.
I meat Marbits, not mallow bits. Sorry.
