Dasani Water with Lemon
Flavored waters are populating the supermarket aisles these days. I have noticed that people usually order water with lemon at restaurants (I don't), so its not a far stretch that someone, which happens to be Coke's Dasani brand in this case, would produce water with lemon 'flavor' already in it.
I really don't like people messing with the taste of good ole' H20, but fortunately this water with lemon had a mild flavor, more like water with just a little 'oomph' and it isn't too sweet, which is one of my complaints with many of the 'flavored waters' out there.
My only complaint with this 'water' is that although there are no calories, there sure are a lot of 'ingredients' in this plain old water with lemon. The good thing is that this is naturally sweetened, but they have also added sucralose, magnesium sulfate, acesulfame K, potassium chloride and salt, just to name a few on the list. All this, and it's still called water.

Actually, Dasani's regular water contains magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and salt. That's the normal, non-flavored water, too. I see no need to add SALT to drinking water.
Hi! Just wanted to say I like your blog. It's well written and very informative. I especially like your lip rating system. I try to eat healthy, so it's great having more info. on what's out there. Check out my blog if ya like it's called Lionboi Blues & News
potassium chloride is a chemical that is a powerful oxide that is used in the making of bombs Potential Health Effects
----------------------------------
Inhalation:
Inhalation of high concentrations of dust may cause nasal or lung irritation.
Ingestion:
Large quantities can produce gastrointestinal irritation and vomiting. May produce weakness and circulatory problems. May affect heart. In severe cases, ingestion may be fatal.
Skin Contact:
Contact may cause irritation or rash, particularly with moist skin.
Eye Contact:
Potassium chloride is moderate eye irritant. Redness, tearing, possible abrasion can occur.
Chronic Exposure:
No information found.
Aggravation of Pre-existing Conditions:
Persons with impaired kidney function may be more susceptible to the effects of the substance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. First Aid Measures
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
Ingestion:
Induce vomiting immediately as directed by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician.
Skin Contact:
Remove any contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Eye Contact:
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting upper and lower eyelids occasionally. Call a physician if irritation persists.

5. Fire Fighting Measures
Fire:
Not considered to be a fire hazard.
Explosion:
Not considered to be an explosion hazard.
Fire Extinguishing Media:
Use any means suitable for extinguishing surrounding fire.
Special Information:
In the event of a fire, wear full protective clothing and NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus with full facepiece operated in the pressure demand or other positive pressure mode.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. Accidental Release Measures
Ventilate area of leak or spill. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Spills: Pick up and place in a suitable container for reclamation or disposal, using a method that does not generate dust.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Handling and Storage
Keep in a tightly closed container, stored in a cool, dry, ventilated area. Protect against physical damage. Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty since they retain product residues (dust, solids); observe all warnings and precautions listed for the product.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
Airborne Exposure Limits:
None established.
Ventilation System:
A system of local and/or general exhaust is recommended to keep employee exposures as low as possible. Local exhaust ventilation is generally preferred because it can control the emissions of the contaminant at its source, preventing dispersion of it into the general work area. Please refer to the ACGIH document, Industrial Ventilation, A Manual of Recommended Practices, most recent edition, for details.
Personal Respirators (NIOSH Approved):
For conditions of use where exposure to dust or mist is apparent and engineering controls are not feasible, a particulate respirator (NIOSH type N95 or better filters) may be worn. If oil particles (e.g. lubricants, cutting fluids, glycerine, etc.) are present, use a NIOSH type R or P filter. For emergencies or instances where the exposure levels are not known, use a full-face positive-pressure, air-supplied respirator. WARNING: Air-purifying respirators do not protect workers in oxygen-deficient atmospheres.
Skin Protection:
Wear protective gloves and clean body-covering clothing.
Eye Protection:
Use chemical safety goggles and/or full face shield where dusting or splashing of solutions is possible. Maintain eye wash fountain and quick-drench facilities in work area.
Potassium is a mineral that is found naturally in foods and is necessary for many normal functions of the body, especially beating of the heart.Potassium chloride is used to prevent or to treat a potassium deficiency.
My 15-month old son was playing with a half-empty bottle of the strawberry flavor and immediately developed a raised rash w/ welts, all over his face. I phone Coca-cola to make a complaint.
