Yoplait Healthy Heart Yogurt
Yoplait 'Healthy Heart' Low fat Yogurt is formulated with plant sterols which are known to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Yoplait yogurt is always very tasty and this one is no exception. I tried the Cherry Orchard flavor. It's creamy, has ample little chunks of fruit, and is reasonably priced.
This yogurt may be low in fat, with only 1.5 grams of total fat and 0.5 grams saturated fat, but there are 180 calories and a whopping 27 grams of sugar in the 6 ounce container. While plant stanols may be good for the heart, too much sugar is not good for the body.
Overall I think it tastes great but there is just too much sugar. The label says you have to eat at least 0.8 g of plant stanols per day to perhaps get some heart help. That's two containers of yogurt daily with a total of 54 grams of sugar per day - just from the yogurt!
