Wendy's Low fat Yogurt with Granola
On July 22, 2005, Wendy's added Low fat strawberry-flavored yogurt with granola to the menu. Of course, I didn't find out until today, and I decided to give it a try. I hoped that I would finally scoop those damned good reviewers over at The Impulsive Buy and The Message Whore. Those two are always trying things out before me, but this time, I have 'em beat. Turns out that LordJezo over at The Message Whore is on vacation in NYC and he had his mind on more exotic delicacies like rice balls - and The Impulsive one was planning a trip to the deep sea after drinking Koyo Ma Ha Lo deep sea water. So here I was, the first one to review Wendy's yogurt ...
The amount of yogurt that came in the container was more than I thought it would be - looks like about 7 ounces. It was smooth, and creamy, with no fruit pieces. It comes with a packet of granola. Normally, I wouldn't have bothered with this - I mean, who needs the extra calories on a Monday? Weekends are not usually the time that the healthiest eating gets done. Nevertheless, I did add it to the yogurt just so I could write about the whole experience. In my opinion, don't bother. While it tastes quite fine, it really doesn't improve the flavor much - save a few calories here. It comes in a plain plastic container, which has Wendy's embedded in the top. The container is half full with the yogurt - looks as if they scooped it from a big tub and put it in the container. I have nothing against this personally - if it saves me a few bucks cents, then I'm all for it.
The yogurt with granola has 300 calories, 6 g fat, 2 g saturated fat, and 22 g sugar. Hmmm .... do I need to even comment? There is a bit too much sugar, but more than that, if this is a part of your lunch for example, make sure it's a big part! Yoplait Light has 100 calories! That's all I'm going to say about that.
Wendy's said the reason they added yogurt to the menu, is that they listened to their customers after introducing the fruit bowl with the yogurt as just a dip Apparently, the customers they listened to desired to buy yogurt from a fast food joint for $1.38 instead of getting it for $0.50 in the supermarket.

It's pretty rare that I enjoy something from Wendy's, since I have to drive 30 minutes to get to the nearest Wendy's. The thing about yogurt is that it needs the live active cultures for it to be healthy. I'm willing to bet the yogurt doesn't have any.
The wendy's yogurt was a little too sweet but overall better than i expected. That granola packet that comes with it, all u need is a spoonful and cuts down on the calories.
I really, really like the yogurt with the granola. I kind of got "hooked" on it and ordered it everytime I got a kids meal. I was very much surprised to find out that you no longer would carry it. I'm sad about that. Why did you stop serving it? Do you think you will bring it back, anytime soon? Where does the granola come from? Is it possible to get that granola now?

how can you reccomend yoplait light? have you read the bottle? it contains artificial sugars which can make you crave more sugar, and gain more weight! i would much rather eat the regular than the lite due to that!
