Slim Fast Optima Smoothie

I'm really a fan of Slim Fast products because they promote good nutrition, but they are pretty pricey, so I don't buy them often. The Slim Fast smoothie was not as thickas most of the other 'yogurt type' smoothies. It is more like a slightly creamy, fruity drink. The taste is okay, but it a bit of a weird combination of sweet and tart flavors in your mouth at the same time. There is also a slight aftertaste, and while it is definitely okay as a drink - there is no real "Yum Factor." The strawberry flavor has white grape juice, apple juice, pineapple juice, and pear juice from concenteate in it. I guess the 'strawberry flavor' must come from the flavoring added, but there can't be much of it because, in my opinion the Slim Fast smoothie didn't have much of a strawberry flavor, but it's more like a 'sweet pineapple' flavor.

Nutritionally, it is superb. You will get 190 calories from a 10.5 oz bottle. Remember, this is supposed to be a meal replacement drink people so if you eat something with this shake, make it a salad or something really light! There are only 15 g sugar in the entire bottle, 12 g protein and 5 g dietary fiber. There are 35% of almost all the vitamins and minerals known to man (a bit of an exaggeration I know).

Overall, go for it if you are trying to take off a few and you're looking for a healthy way to do it, but it is a bit pricey at about $6 - $8.00 for a pack of 4. The taste may not be great, but it's not that bad.
