Pacific Organic Mushroom Broth
This products true strength is in its versatility. It has a hearty and distinct mushroom flavor that takes well to simple treatment, like the addition of barley and a few veggies for a light soup that will perk you up when you have a cold. But use this as a base for something more extravagant, and you may just find yourself reaching for this product more often than you can imagine. I find it ads a discernible warmth in the background of most any suitable recipe, without tasting distinctly like mushrooms. One of my favorite characteristics of this product is that it is in a carton, and not in a can. To me, canned broths are just inferior in taste, and always seem to have more sodium in them, perhaps to hide the "taste of the tin." I can typically find a 32 fluid ounce carton of Pacific's broths for around $2.50. It may seem pricey at first, but not when you consider that there are 4 servings (1 cup, 8 ounces each) per carton. Overall, with the versatility and the flavor that this can add to nearly anything, I feel it's well worth the extra bucks. Comments
