Lean Cuisine Chicken Carbonara
Nutritionally, only 270 calories, but 690 mg sodium (29% of the reccommended daily value), 7 g total fat, 2 g saturated fat, no trans fat, 650 mg potassium and 18 g protein, along with a little bit of vitamin A and C, calcium and iron. Closer attention to the ingredients label reveals a few things that I am not too thrilled about - like the 'bleached' macaroni and the 'bleached' enriched flour and the sodium nitrite. I would have liked to see whole wheat flour instead of the bleached stuff, but perhaps that was asking a bit much for a product that was on sale for less than $2.00 (at the time of purchase). Sodium nitrite is commonly used in cured meats such as ham and bacon (very tiny bacon bits are in this meal), but it is carcinogenic, so I'm never too thrilled to see that in my foods. However, it is an approved product since it is used in such small amounts in foods - I don't want to spread any propoganda here. Overall, I would say that I may buy this product again as it tasted pretty good and wasn't too bad nutritionally. ›› Rating
