Glaceau Vitamin Water

Glaceau Vitamin WaterGlaceau Vitamin Water is just like what the name says - water with vitamins added to it. But Glaceau is anything but ordinary. To stand out from other water 'beverages' out there, apart from adding vitamins, there are brightly colored labels and creative names like Revive, Power C, Energy, Defense ... and a humorous story to go along with each product. For example:- 'stress b/lemon-lime': "For the temporary relief of stress associated with personal finances, high school reunions, computer viruses, and telemarketers calling during dinner. Continuous usage may lead to the extinction of reclining chairs, therapists and radio stations beginning with the name "light" or "easy."

But what about the taste! Well, it's water, so you know what to expect except ... I tried the Revive Fruit Punch. The ingredients label says that they added a little sugar or crystalline fructose, natural flavors and a little vegetable juice for color. So this does not exactly taste like water, but more like - a beverage that I thought was going to be sweeter, but it wasn't, and that left my mouth disappointed. I think it's the same reason I don't like Gatorade (well that and the fact that I am NOT a Florida Gators fan! but I digress...) I will let people know that I am in the minority with my opinion though. I like water to taste like water, and if something has the name 'water' in it, then I also expect that will taste like water, and I don't like it if it doesn't.

On the other hand, there are at least 50% of many vitamins in these drinks. Another note on labeling - it turns out that there are 50 calories per serving of this 'revive vitamin water.' There are 2.5 servings in a bottle, leaving you with 125 calories from this 'vitamin water.' And you pay $1.99 for the pleasure. I think 50CENTS (the rapper) knew what he was doing when he invested in this company! I think I'll stick to drinking good ole' no calorie, filtered 'TAP water.'

I love Vita(min) Water. It still has less calories than soda plus those yummy vites. I'm pretty sure there is a small dose of crack in it, as everyone I know that tries it, becomes a Vita-junkie.
The biggest problem with it is finding all the flavors in Philly. I have to have my friend bring me flavors from LA (spoiled Californians). If they made a diet version with half (or a third) the sugar, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
All this talk of Vita-water, I gotta go get one.

I have to agree with your review; I will keep my $1.99 and avoid 125 calories and 33 grams of sugar. Also, in terms of the vitamins found in Vitamin Water, there is no data that shows they offer any health benefits whatsoever, because vitamins are "poorly absorbed in this form and are excreted in the urine." yes i would agree also. nothing could be better than pure all natural water. while i agree with the innovative concept of adding vitamins to water is good, but they took the healthy aspect out of it when they added sugar and other artificial flavors..

ya, but the people that drink it aren't thinking about the calories and sugar. i drink it because i love the taste and because i like to think that it's healthy. plus it's definitely better for you than soda.

I've triend Vitamin Water and I really don't mind the taste (kind of reminds me of Kool-Aid) but 125 calories and 33 grams of sugar is a LOT considering Gatorade has the same amount of calories and only one fewer gram of sugar per serving.

what about sugar free vitamin water

Anything you buy to drink is going to contain a lot of sugar and calories. Unless you drink just plain water or sugar free of course. I have an Essential orange-orange vitamin water sitting in front of me. The benefit is that it contains 9 essential vitamins. Maybe that is why its called essential orange-orange. I dont drink soda, and I feel that vitamin water is okay occasionally. Drinking just plain water is the best.

Ever since i saw the actual amount of sugar in vitamin water i havent drank it....just imagine what that will do to your teeth after a while

Vitamin water is water with vitamins. I dont care about how many calories ther is if it restores balance in your body. I mean the price is alittle outragous so i only but it 2-3 times a week. Im addicted to itt. (:
