V8 Splash Smoothie

v8 smoothie V8 Splash Smoothie is a more recent addition to the V8 Splash line which includes fruit and tomato juices. I tried Peach Mango and Strawberry Banana flavors. While the taste was creamy and fruity, I can't really see how this was a smoothie. The consistency was thicker than regular juice, but it was still way too runny / watery in comparison to more traditional smoothies. V8 Splash smoothie doesn't have any milk in it, so it's good for those people who are lactose intolerant, but it still has a lot of creaminess to it.

**Updated** Since V8 Splash Smoothies were first introduced, they have changed things up a bit. Most noticeable is that the packaging has changed. The bottle was at first much smaller (46 ounces) than the original V8 Splash juices (64 ounces). Now the bottle appears much bigger due to changing the shape and elongating the top, but it still holds the same amount.

smoothie Also nutritionally, at first there wasn't much in it with very little vitamins (much less vitamins than regular V8 juices with only more of the B vitamins, but even then, it's only 10% of the recommended daily value). It also had 25 g of sugar per serving which really doesn't make it a "healthy" or "diet" drink. Now, you get 90 calories per serving along with 18 g of sugar. But the biggest change is that now you can get 70% of the daily allowance of vitamin A, 100% vitamin C, and 10% calcium - which you don't get from V8 juices.

At first it was more expensive than regular V8 juices but it seems that the prices are around the same at $3.00 per bottle, but since you get less in a bottle of V8 Smoothie, it still works out to be more expensive. Overall, I like this product, but if you're looking for something that's more like a smoothie, you might not get it from this.

I like this one. I think V8 is a healthy alternative to other flavored drinks.
